  • Well I am totally drained emotionally and physically. What a day !! Hopefully I will get some sleep tonight as I hardly shut my eyes last night and ended up in the shower at 6.30am as I couldn't get back to sleep.

We went back up tonight and mum was sitting there like a wee queen :D. Tomorrow she will attend mass, she will have a bath and she is getting her hair done :D. What a boost for her. I cannot wait to go and see her. That place she is in is like a salve for us. It just soothes you. Took my mum's sister up tonight as she was really anxious and she is home much happier about it all as she can see my mum is quite content and a lot more comfortable. I got another 2 weeks sick line from doc today as well so I can relax a wee bit about going into work the next couple of weeks.

    Didn't spend anything tonight :D

  • Good Morning
Still had a rotten sleep last night but alarm woke me at 7.30 so at least not up as early. Mum said she had a good night though. My brother is heading up after lunch but I will wait until tonight and head up with my kids and see her then. The kids are a bit nervous about going up because it is the hospice and not the hospital. I don't blame them because so was I nervous and I am the adult. They will be fine though as it is a great place and the staff will put them at ease in no time.

I've had a wee look at the money situation today and I'm doing okay. I think I am so used to being frugal that it is second nature now :o. I bought lunch for my brother and I the other day but no additional spends other than that.

Going to get a start on DS's packing for France today and get some idea of what I still need for him. Hopefully not too much .

His dad gave him £20 to spend. What a star ( NOT) what a prat more like. The trip, the clothes, the spends have cost me hundreds of pounds and he gives him £20 . Says a lot hmmm. DS said his dad was a bit skint just now and that was all he could afford. Poor him ............and yep that was dripping sarcasm :rotfl:.

  • Went to see mum tonight and she was quite poorly. She has an awful cough and they have said she has fluid in her chest and around her lungs. She is on a new water tablet to try and disperse it. So the wee soul has not managed a shower or a haircut or getting to mass :(, Also told me tonight that she didn't think she would get home again :(. Kids had dinner up there and I had a salad roll and profiteroles. I haven't had a real meal in days so tomorrow I need to make an effort and cook dinner for us all. I never got DS's packing started but I got him some new track suit trousers for traveling so I reckon other than a couple of toiletry things we have everything he needs. I need to sort it out tomorrow. Roll on tomorrow, I hope it's an improvement on today as I am not in a good place again :(

  • Well I got my first dig money from my daughter today £15 :D. I feel a bit bad about it though. BUT I am a great believer in kids learning the value of money and that they need to pay their way in life. I think until my tax credits stop I will use it for debt repayments. So I have £27.50 cleaning money and £15 digs to pay off of CC today,

Was sorting out DS's things for France and still need a few things. It'll cost me about £40 I reckon. I am going to the Westlife concert on Sunday with 2 friends and we are going for some food as it is my birthday on Monday. My mum had bought me the ticket for my Christmas and I am really looking forward to the night out. Will be sad that it is the last concert but at the grand old age of 46 and a massive bit I reckon I am finally growing out of them .

So I have actually cooked the dinner tonight. First real meal we have had all week. Chicken in a lovely chicken, mushroom, carrot and onion gravy with potatoes, croquettes and veg. Nom Nom .

Am going to head up to see mum tonight with my friend. I've not heard a word from her today so am a wee bit concerned that she is not so good again today but I will see for myself later.

So Happy Friday everyone and I hope you're all being good little money savers ;)

I hope your Mum is feeling a bit better today.

You've got nothing to feel guilty about regarding the dig money - it does help teach the value of money.

  • My mum had a bath today and got her hair washed but the wee soul is just exhausted. She just isn't her usual chatty self and her hearing was awful tonight so trying to have a conversation was rough.I have no idea what is going on.

I'm going to see westlife tomorrow and am looking forward to that but hope to go and see mum on the way to Glasgow. I think I'll take the car as I just cannot be bothered drinking. Am skint anyway so I'll just go for food and that'll do me.

Had to but a few things for DS for his trip and I have been buying 'stuff' that I dont need i.e. snacks for the house as we are eating on the hop. I need to get more organised as I have no energy and I reckon it's because I am not eating properly. DS made the dinner tonight ( bless) fish and frozen chips and unforunately the chips were still frozen :rotfl:. Never mind he tried hard.

I hope you are all well xx

  • Good morning folks. Beautifully sunny here in Scotland today so the washing machine is on.

DS is off to France today. I'll miss him heaps but I hope that he has a fabulous time. He's not a great mixer so no doubt I will worry myself sick all week whilst he is away. He is quite excited and it is 26 degrees where he is going. Lucky b*gger :D.

I just saw some pics from my best friends silver wedding party last week and I am horrified at how I look. I am just massive. I really need to sort this out very soon as I look gross. I had bought a new dress, done all my hair, make up and nails and thought I had looked really nice before I went out but OMG gross .

Went to see Westlife's final concert last night :(. So sad that they are finishing up. Where will I get my cheesy pop fix now?? Concert was fabulous and their best yet and I can say that as I have been to see them almost every year :o.

Just finished reading the fifty shades series :o:o very saucy but I enjoyed them. Going to read 'the help' now as been recommended that by a few people.

Spent way too much at the weekend and am going to buy DD and I our dinner today ( or a takeaway) as it is my 47th birthday .I am in no mood to celebrate but I will plaster on a smile and play the game. DS got me alovely purse from River Island and DD got me the bag to match it. They are fab. It's great that they have money now as for years I got boxes of sweets from them :rotfl:no wonder I am fat :p.

So today I will take DS to the airport :) and later will go and see my wee Mum in the hospice. I have been every day and even popped in with my 2 friends last night on the way to the concert. Don't know why I did that as it just made me cry but I can't stay away from her. I'm so scared I miss a day and something happens to her. I would never forgive myself.

Anyway, I need to tighten the purse strings as I have had a spendy weekend with DS's trip and concert so no more treats after tonight as I still have £130 approx to pay this month to meet my snowball target. I didn't pay in the £42.50 yet but will check later and see whether I can just transfer it over. Take care all xx
