  • I know there are millions of people worse off then me but right now I can't see beyond my situation . :(:(

And nor should you. You are doing a brilliant job of holding it all together in tough times. I can't even begin to imagine how you feel.

Hope you are feeling a little better now Xx

  • Well what a day but thankfully a day full of positives :D.

DD got the apprenticeship so I am beyond pleased about that. I am so so so so proud of her :D:D:D. She starts in August and it is for 4 years with college input. It's for the local council so it should be secure. That'll be handy having a decorator :D:D.By the time her friends come out of Uni she will be earning about 25k and no doubt have her first property in her portfolio. What a girl.

My brother and I went to the hospice today and I loved it. I cried my eyes out whilst looking round it but it will be perfect for my mum. The hospice was set up by nuns and there are still nuns and priests involved in the running of it.One of the great joys in my mum's life was going to mass every morning and as her health deteriorated she had to stop. We found out today that she can attend mass daily and even if she is under the weather they will take her into the chapel in her bed. I broke my heart at this as my mum will be thrilled to do that again. The hospice was very much about life and not death and my brother and I came away with a feeling of peace. Now considering I thought I was going to throw up going in, that was a fabulous outcome.

  • Thanks plmbl. It's amazing how we all worry and care for everyone on here. I appreciate the thoughts xx

My mum is so funny. I think I mentioned before that she likes to organise everyone and everything and she has already informed me that DD is to get one of her telly's, DS to get her bedroom furniture, I've to get her washing machine and dishwasher  but then tells us that she has not yet made up her mind re hospice. What a woman ;)

Hopefully I'll sleep tonight as I am truly exhausted and the olympic torch will be here in the morning so I want to head out at 8am to see that :D

Congratulations to your DD, and at least you know when and if your mum makes the decision she will be going to a lovely place.

  • Hi folks. Didn't get a chance to come on yesterday. Went to see the olympic torch in the morning ( was very exciting) then went to work. Went into my mum's in the afternoon and then went to my friends 25th wedding anniversary party last night.

The party was great but I just wasn't in the mood to be honest. I painted on a smile, only cried twice :o and watched very carefully what I was drinking as if I had gotten tipsy at all the tears would have flowed uninhibited as these were my closest friends I was with. I was their chief bridesmaid at their wedding 25 years ago and am godmother to their son. I was in the horrors in case I spoiled their party but I didn't and she had no idea that I had been upset as I hid it well and told everyone to stop being so nice to me :rotfl:. She is very very close to my mum as well so knows how I am feeling.

Mum has decided to go into the hospice for a couple of weeks to see if they can get her symptoms under control and her meds evened out. She can then see what it is like and make her long term decision. I'm relieved and devastated at the same time but I know 100% it is the right thing for us all.

Not a hugely spendy weekend. £68 on shopping. £23 on my friends cake for her party and £20 towards a weekend away for them. It was a group gift.I spent £10 at the olympic torch on hot rolls and flags :D.

Very quiet day today as my liver is aching lots and had about 2 hours sleep and a nice puking session. I reckon I'll need to stop drinking completely as the pain is just not worth it :(. I think my lifestyle just now is really not helping as I am eating on the hop and it's rarely healthy. So I need to get more organised which I think I'll manage to do when mum goes into the hospice :(.

Have a lovely Sunday folks xx

That sounds great re your Mum. That is often the way the hospice do uit - in and out, so there is not the drama of leaving the house thinking it is for ever!!! I expect she will love the hospice.
