Hi folks. Busy wee day today. Worked until 2.30 and came home and after a wee nap I got ready to go to a party. It was a joint 50th/18th and I have worked with the woman for many years. Her Mum had a stroke around the same time my Mum became really ill and we supported each other over the years. She has been on carers leave looking after her Mum and her Mum was there tonight. Her daughter is the one who was 18 and she had her Gran in the middle of the floor in her chair dancing with her. One minute I was smiling and then I realised that I was awash with tears. I couldn't help but remember my DD's 18th last year with my wee Mum sitting in her chair at the dinner with us. She was just done in but determined to be there. She just watched us all night as she couldn't hear what we were saying. I managed to pull myself together and enjoy the night but I am in pieces now. Been ages since I had a good old cry. Feeling sad tonight5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

Sending hugs MIT, it is so tough when those little moments hit us.
I had to pull over in the car months after my Mum died when a song came on the radio that just brought back some powerful memories
Wel done on pulling yourself back together and carrying on with the evening.:j Proud Member of Mike's Mob :j0 -

Aww thanks guys. Hugs appreciated. Those of you who were with me through the time leading up to my Mum's death will know I did a lot of my grieving whilst she was here so I don't often get these episodes but I am really really missing her just now. Loads of things have happened where I would have called her first and sometimes I feel as if I have no-one to talk to. Now that is just nonsense as I have my brother, my kids and I am blessed to have many many friends and a couple of very close friends BUT sometimes I just want my Mum. Might be different if I had a partner but hey ho I am just feeling sorry for myself a bit.
I think I am feeling like this as everything is out of control so I need to regain control ASAP and get my life back on track. I have had to spend a lot of money recently on my house ( all essential) and the money I spent on my holiday. So by the time the heating goes in and I get my flooring my debt will be up by about £5k on what it was. I could just cry. But I won't as I am a strong independent woman and I will start again.
So my plan of action is to get control. I will get back onto healthy eating tomorrow. I will start my spending diary again tomorrow. I will clean the house up today and keep on top of it.If I am in control then I will feel better.
So I am away to clean . I reckon I will need to get the floors lifted later in the week so that heating can be done but I'm not sure, I'll check with the plumber. My house will be upside down for weeks now I reckon but it will be grand when it is all done. xx5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60

It will be lovely I'm sure MIT and with your drive the debt increase will be minimal when you look at and feel the benefits of the work done.
I still cry occasionally at lost relatives for no apparent reason even my dear Dad I lost 26 years ago. It never goes away , however the memories can be just as happy as they are sad.:j0 -
At least it's not £5k on top of your existing debt amount, which it could have been had you not been as fab as you have been at reducing it down. You will get it down again.
I've been naughty food wise this week too. Too many nice things in from the birthdays. Will get back on it tomorrow too - I just ran to the car as it started to rain and it felt like I had lead weights bouncing around in my bottom . Proper chunkyXx

Lol PLMBL. Quite a picture you have painted there.
I have eaten so much today I feel sick. All set for tomorrow though and actually looking forward to being 'good'.
DD went to ASDA for me today which saved me going out in the monsoon that was pelting down. She spent £44 so not too bad and we are replenished in snacks and juice again. That'll stop the kids moaning for a while.
I managed to do some ironing, washing ( but nightmare trying to dry it with no heating) tidied up, cleaned oven, made dinner and frozen another dinner, knitted some of my SIL's cardigan, read through some diaries and finished typing up my competencies. Once I get them checked over I will upload my from tomorrow night. All quite exciting stuff
So Good night I'll be back tomorrow xx5 Year plan. April 2020 to June 2025- CC and mortgage free by time I'm 60
