  • Well time to have a wee boast. My DD was put forward for the apprentice of the year and she has been chosen by the national board to go to the finals in Leicester. She is in the final 4 in her category :j. I am so proud of her and she is taking me with her for an all expenses paid 3 days away :D. Need to buy a new frock :D.

Heating going in tomorrow and house is a wreck  but we will be cosy all winter so I can cope.

Need to be short and sweet as DD wants laptop back to watch Downton on netflix

  • Thanks guys. Hello there JB long time no see xx

What a day. Heating engineer has started and house is a riot but by tomorrow night we will be toasty hot and I cannot wait.

My good friend's son went to London for a work trial and has ended up in hospital and she is on way down there by car. Been on the road 6 hours so far and in a panic as he is really unwell and surgical team are on standby to operate. He's only 19 and thought he was going to die. Can't wait till she gets there and we find out what's wrong.

Lifted 2k cash from cc today and feel slightly sick about it but I will hammer it down asap and hopefully get rid of it in 6 months. I will just spend what I need to to get house back to normal then get my head down and pay it off.6,40pm

So all very exciting here but hopefully will settle down very soon xx

Hope your friends son is ok, it puts everything into perspective when someone is seriously ill and all you can do is wait.

Good news on the heating front, hard to believe its nearly October and our heating is still off. At least you will be nice and warm this winter.

We all have times when we have to take a step backwards on our road to financial freedom, at least you are addressing it and have a plan in mind and not letting the debt fester.x

  • Good morning folks. Been missing in action the last few days as been mega busy.

Heating got fitted on Thursday so all went well and it is just fabulous. I went to work on cleaning job on Thursday night with DS ( after a full days normal work ) work on Friday then out for dinner with DD and to a wedding, Yesterday I was at a memorial service where my friend and I helped by taking the ashes, flowers etc to the church and cemetery ( my friend works for a funeral parlour). Then went and looked for a dress ( unsuccessfully) for DD's apprentice ceremony, then went carpet hunting. I was utterly exhausted last night but today I am recharged :D. The sun is shining and the washing is on and the world is revolving.

My house is a riot so I am going to spend today putting it to rights. I have fallen into an abyss spends wise but to be honest everything has been necessary spends and it will stop soon. I will then sit down and work out my future budget but I can't just now as I am not finished. I picked the most beautiful grey striped carpet for my stairs and also a plain grey for my bedrooms. It was reduced from £33.99 per m2 to £11.99 so it is lovely quality and scotchguarded so will hopefully last a while. I am so excited to get it done.

So busy busy day in front of me but at least it will be a fruitful one xx

  • Hey MIT
Not been around much myself, keep popping on to read but never time to post.

God good woman, I am knackered reading what you have been up to!! All good though, sooo pleased about your central heating. It will be amazing through the winter to get up to a lovely warm house.
Ooo grey carpets, I am desperate to redecorate to have pale grey walls and dark grey carpets. Why I thought beige carpets would be a good idea I don't know!? You will have to post some piccies when you are finished.

I am away to give the house a good clean, all the drawers, the lot.

    Have a good day

  • well as I said it was a busy wee day. My dogs are barking ( sore feet) :D. But I have achieved loads and am happy.

4 Loads of washing done and dried outside. Lounge cleaned from end to end and furniture shuffled around. Kitchen gutted and tried to scrub floor but have decided I need to bite the bullet and get new flooring. Hall and stairs gutted. Bathroom stuff moved into cupboard vacated by the water tank. Huge load of rubbish away to tip. Now about to set up the ironing and get that done. Upstairs is still a bit of a riot but I will get it done bit by bit each day. DD will be back tomorrow and she is a good help. She is going to do the decorating I need done. I cannot wait until it is finished.

DS and I had a fray bentos steak pie for dinner tonight. They were on for £1in ASDA yesterday and I thought it would be a nice easy dinner as I was so busy. My ex and I used to eat them all the time. Well all I can say is BOAK !! and God help the woman who gets my son as I have ruined him. Neither of us ate it and it went in the bin. Disgusting . So never again . DS said no way Mum are you to buy that. I'm not eating it even if it's free :rotfl:.So back to home cooking.

My friend gave me a brand new breadmaker yesterday. I'm delighted. I used to make my own bread all the time and I reckon I will be starting it again. The price of bread is shocking. Nothing like the smell of fresh bread cooking. Yum yum.

I hope everyone has had a nice day xx
