Don't you just hate Royal Mail?

The thread is easy to grasp. You didn't get to the post office on time - then went in to a rant about something you know nothing about.

Job done.
You haven't answered my earlier questions and from the look of your posting history, there are a number of rude posts defending the Post Office/Royal Mail - I can hazard a guess you are somehow connected.
Your job has been done about as well as the Royal Mail's - reduced service perversely offset by outrageously increased cost.0 -
I have a Royal Mail bulk account and find them to be generally very good. No-one likes a price rise, but they have no control over the 20% VAT that has recently been added.
On top of that, fuel & other costs have risen dramatically in the last couple of years and they need to cut losses and find some way of making a profit.0 -
Hi Omar
Thanks for your reply which is not bullying or abusive. From a personal point of view the Royal Mail have made less mistakes with my deliveries. I have noticed a marked improvement in reliability over the last 3-4 years. That aside, I cannot think of any other aspect of the Royal Mail that has improved.
I appreciate that fuel costs have risen substantially but when was the VAT position on postal services changed. as far as I was aware these have always been exempt from VAT?0 -
Just add 40% at the drop of a hat to the most basic service
Regrettably my annoyance is shared by postmen and the little sub post office staff, who will suffer.
I expect the big picture and the history of the Royal Mail or was it consignia to be lost on you.
I am genuinely surprised that the general consensus here is that the Royal Mail offer a good service and everyone is happy with the latest rises. I personally would go to war for less :-)look up,its going right over your head.Hi Omar

I think that considering the amount of business traffic they get, it's amazing there aren't more 'hiccups'. In many other countries you have to go to a post office mail box to pick up your mail. You may even have to pay rental for the box. I've lived overseas with this system and I know which I prefer. Let's prize this British institution while we have it.
PS and a big thumbs up to my regular postie!0 -
Who has bullied or abused you? You have little knowledge of the subject, but kick off if someone who has disagrees.
I pay 30% more for petrol than I did three years ago. Strangely enough, my car doesn't run any better.0 -

you are a patronising poor judge of character and intellect macfly - try re-reading your earlier posts and then answer a couple of the questions.I pay 30% more for petrol than I did three years ago. Strangely enough, my car doesn't run any better.
I pay 40% more for a second class stamp than I did 10 days ago but strangely enough the letter wil not be delivered any quicker or more efficiently.
Most postmen I know walk their rounds. The Royal Mail would do well for themselves and the environment to consider electric vehicles where they can feasibly be used. No doubt negotiations with the government/EU would attract subsidies.
Here is a pertinent link - perhaps these people are idiots who know nothing too.............
