I would never stay in a Travelodge again. The last time I did was August 09 at the town centre hotel in Harlow. The room was clean enough, though the staff didn't seem to be too bothered about their guests and parking was confusing.

The worst thing was the awful bed, the matress was thin enough that you could feel the lumps and springs through it. My partner and I got no sleep whatsoever which didn't help me feel any better (I was staying in town to bury my recently deceased Dads ashes)

I was upset the next morning I just wanted to get out and go back home. I contacted the hotel to complain a few days later but never did receive a reply. Avoid at your peril.

On a brighter note we stayed at a private B&B in Worcester at the weekend just gone and had a fabulous time. The owner couldn't have been more helpful and the room was one of the best I've ever stayed in. All that for £60 per night including breakfast.

Still no reply or refund from Travelodge so I have emailed the press office as the on-site contact form is not working.I have informed them that I am pursuing my re-fund via the small claims court as they have not responded to my communications and I was promised a re-fund by the 'hotel'..'manager' (sic) I have asked them to pass the email onto the legal department as fair warning of legal action. STILL no reply. I can only assume nobody actually works for Travelodge or at best that they don't care about customers-as a side note I have spent the last 3 nights at the premier Inn in Hammersmith and It has been fine.I had a chilly room on the first night due to a faulty heating fan but they swapped rooms for me and the staff were very helpful and friendly, rooms were clean.Lots of restaurants nearby so all in all a good stay. Look and learn travelodge..it's easy to get it right!

The email to the press office seemed to work in-so far as I had an email from customer services stating an evoucher would be sent to me that I could use at a stay in a travelodge.I replied to the email stating I wanted the full re-fund as promised by the hotel manager but I have had no reply from my email.
I have sent another email today to the press office see below.let's see if this gets any response.

email as sent to the press office

    Dear Sir/Madam

I recently sent an email to you as I was getting no response from your customer services etc,I can only assume that you passed on my email as I received a communication from a Christine Bunyard unfortunately all that was stated was that I would receive an evoucher to the value of my last stay to stay at your hotels -as you may gather I would rather swim at Sharm el-Sheikh with a steak round my neck than to stay at a Travelodge again. I have replied to her email and tried phoning (expressing my wish for a full refund that was promised by the hotel manager) but yet again I am being completely ignored. Please would you be kind enough to pass on this email to both her and your legal department as I have now received the documentation from my solicitor and I am taking this matter to the small claims court. Please also be aware that I am writing a circular email that will contain my communications and attempts to communicate with Travelodge. This will be sent to all my clients and colleagues that use hotels on a regular basis and also to the editorial desks of as many newspapers I can in case they have wish to warn their readers. I have never experienced such a 'total disregard of customer service'

You often get posts from people saying "I stayed at Travelodge in AnyTown and didn't like it so I won't stay at any travelodge ever again".
The thing is that travelodge is incredibly variable. There are some which are absolutely terrible, dirty, falling apart, mould everywhere, and there are some which are really nice, clean and quiet. The problem is that you don't know in advance what it's going to be like before you turn up!

But just because you've had a bad experience at one travelodge, doesn't mean they are all bad.

If I'm going somewhere I haven't been before I'll tend to stick with Premier Inn as they are far more consistent, never had a bad experience with them. But the majority of time I stay with Travelodge as I've worked out where the good ones are! But it's trial and error.

Well it took time but the last email-see above-to the press office got me a phone call from the travelodge manageress. She gave me a full refund and said she had only been at that site for a couple of months and was trying to get things sorted-I would think 'laying down the law' to a few cleaners could be done in a day and answering the phone would be a good start-but obviously not! Of course I didn't get any costs back for the many phone calls and my time but hopefully I have managed to help people avoid the same experience at the docks! Go to Liverpool it's a great city to visit but for the travelodge at the docks...AVOID IT!!
  • Don't know if this is the right place to put this question, but has anyone got a recent address please for travelodge complaints? They haven't answered my 7 emails over two months. They only owe me £26.50, but I am not giving up. They charge a lot for phone calls. (I had phoned to make sure my internet booking had gone through as I had not received confirmation. Instead, she made a second booking and I have been charged twice.)
  • I should say I have stayed in 4 Travelodges and they have all been good value with no problems. Ludlow in Shrops was excellent. Stansted Mount Fitchet in Essex was good...a huge room. St Pancras was miniscule and dark, but otherwise good. Wolverhampton was very traffic noisy..you need a room on the quiet side. The above complaint is my only one, but if they are constantly not refunding customers for Travelodges own mistakes then there does seem a scam going on????
  • Morning all

Does anyone have an email for the complaints dept of Travelodge?

    Thanks
  • Hi there! There is an email adress for complaints on their web site, but dont bother..I have been trying to contact then for 2 months and get no reply. I am now looking for an address.
Best of luck..they just hope you will give up.

Hi all and happy new year. As you can see from my posts that Travelodge have the worst customer service I have had in years and they seem to ignore all emails, hence me sending my emails to the press office asking them to forward it to somebody that actually cares!! the threat of bad publicity and legal action did work (and I wasn't bluffing). As an extra note a client booked me into the travelodge near Waterloo station 2 weeks ago and the heater (A.C) wasn't working and they wouldn't give me a different room but gave me a portable heater to lug up the stairs. How kind!! They do seem to set their standards incredibly low and still manage to fail to meet them.
