Ooooh, congrats Cali, you're more sorted than I am!

I had trouble finding an available photographer so I'm going with an art student who does portraits and wants to branch into weddings- £99 for four hours and full copyright of all the images. I found him on gumtree so you could look there?
  • lol we dont even have a venue yet! ....

nor am i engaged, so dont worry about doing things the "right way" or whatever, everything will be okay in the end.

    Hello Fellow September Brides!!

Where is everyone?! Just under 20 weeks to go for us now and the panic is starting to set in a bit!!

Ok so so far I have sorted the following:

Venue - includes the ceremony, wedding breakfast, evening buffet & disco and all the little things so thats a big weight off)

My Dress - Ordered and paid for, had first fitting, second one booked for mid July

My Shoes - bought off ebay

My Jewellery - wearing stuff I already have

Bridesmaid Dress - bought, paid for, fitting in July

Bridesmaid Shoes - she is buying her own

Registrar booked - just need to pay the balance and see if we get a rehearsal or anything before the big day

Transport - Family friends doing it for us

Bouquets and buttonholes - Family friend making button bouquets for me and my bridesmaid, a wand for my flowergirl and all of the buttonholes for the men for £100, bargain!

Photographer booked - need to pay the balance

Invitations - Ordered just awaiting delivery

So we still need to sort suits, flowergirl dress, rings, cake (have decided on a topsy turvy cake just need to do a taste test and order), table centres, name places, post box, guest book, table plan etc etc

    The list is still endless!!!

    Hows everyone else getting on??

Under 20 weeks to go! That is scary. This weekend we stuck a big old bit of paper up on the wall in our 'wedding/spare room' and made a massive list of everything we still need to do. Quite overwhelming but will be satisfying to tick things off!

    So far we have:

    -Booked venue (7th September)
    -Booked registrar and given notice
    -Booked photographers
    -Bought bridesmaids dresses
-Picked and ordered wedding dress, should be in to the shop end of May/beginning of June!
    - Ordered wedding rings, brushed titanium band for him, plain platinum band being made up to the same size and profile as my engagement ring for me :)
-Have bought all the fabric for my bunting, have cut out and the MIL has sewn up enough for around 200m, still another 200-300m to go!
-Started decorating our jar vases for the tables, 6 down about 150 to go!
-Have chosen our menu with our caterers and we are doing an evening cheese and cold meats buffet ourselves.
-Have designed the layout of our invitations, just need to get them printed and sent out in the next few weeks!
    - OH has picked his suit, getting all the other men measured up at beginning of June.
    - Ordered wedding cupcakes.
    - Picked my side tiara
    - Booked make up artist and hair dresser, having hair trial next month.
    - Went and saw 1 florist, going to get quotes from a few more.

On our to do list for May we have:
    - Sort dress for best woman
    - Make more bunting/jars etc
    - Start table runners
    - Pay deposits for crockery and catering
    - Send Invitations
    - Start making wedding playlists
    Expecting Baby No 1 - 20/06/14 - Team Yellow!

Oh dear, everyone sounds like they've done so much more than me!

I ordered my dress this weekend! And it goes with the gorgeous Jenny Packham shoes I bought in the Jan sales : )
I need to buy a diamant! belt to go with it - the one in the shop was £120! I might try ordering ribbon and some diamant! bits off eBay and try making my own...

We also booked our appointment to give notice in June.

    I don't yet have a photographer though... : s

Ive been on fire today with wedding planning!

Today Ive booked the bouncy castle, made an appointment for OH to go try on and pick his suit, enquired about hiring table centres, just need to figure out whether its actually cheaper to buy them, not sure yet! Invitations have arrived so Ive sorted those out and got them ready to send although thinking I might hang fire for a couple of weeks. Have finished the wedding website today aswell, if anyone wants to take a nosy pm me for details! OH is a dab hand in the workshop so he is making the postbox and has shown me his design today, he is also going to make a jigsaw guest book, Im very excited about that!! OH also going to look into the technicalities of setting up a DIY Photobooth, Im going to do the fun stuff like buying the props lol. Have also had another email chat with our wedding organiser at the venue so Im a bit clearer on whats happening.

Actually starting to feel a bit organised at last!!
