Does anyone know an email or postal address that I could send them a one-liner?
Thanks

By the way Keithing-ger, there is no option for contacting them by email, surprise, surprise, but the postal address I have is:
Credit Office
Preston
PR1 4AT
Not that your letter will get there in time :rotfl: According to their website, you can go into your local enquiry centre to pick up a form. And I read somewhere someone said that if you get one from there and return it to the enquiry centre, they will forward it on, and they give a weeks grace for it.0 -
hi folks,
we are trying to gauge whether the phone number for renewing tax credits - 0345 300 3900 - has been experiencing high demand resulting in delays or people just not able to get through.
Please let us know what your experiences this time around (ie july 2012) have been like, by posting below.
Also a quick tip - hmrc tells us the quietest time to try is usually in mid-afternoon

ive been trying all day yesterday and today still carnt get through0 -
Well after sitting on the phone for an eternity every day leading up to the tax credits 'cut-off' I decided to do an internet search on the best times to call where I could be more likely to get through and even though I tried the options suggested I then thought I'd ring the number and not enter any options (such as press x for a dept). I was then put through to hold music with an automated 'thanks for waiting, your call is very important to us blah blah' played intermittently.
I've finally got through to someone after 22 mins hooray!!
Just thought I'd share :j0 -

You could have sent it in or called earlier than the week before the deadline
No I couldn't, for reasons that you're not aware of. And of course I don't despise the individuals that answer the phones, or not as the case may be. But those that run the show are beneath contempt as far as I'm concerned. They could make this a lot easier. Why don't they? And one year I tried the international number. It was answered immediately (not exactly rushed off their feet then), and they took the details, but not after telling me off as if I was some naughty schoolboy, and telling me never to do it again. !!!!!!? Happy to admit that this stuff makes me very angry, as you may have guessed.0 -
blondebubbles wrote: »Maybe you personally couldnt but there's no way that everyone trying to do it this week couldnt have done it earlier.
If they had it would now be easier for people like you who couldnt do it before now.
The majority of the population are procrastinators blondebubbles, it's a natural human conditionThey know this and should cater for it. The Inland Revenue are the same, but that's another story.
Come the revolution.....;)0 -

Try it from your mobile (unless that's what you did of course). If you get through, be prepared to get shouted at.

I've been trying to get through for about a week now, I was getting through to the automated voice (that keeps you on the line for about 4 minutes before attempting to connect you) before getting cut off, but am now just getting "we are sorry we can deal with your call at the moment, please call us back another time"...I've been pretty much redialling all day, I can't get through!0

Every year my child care ceases for the summer @ the same time the tax credit renewal period ends.. I've had not luck getting through to report the change.
After going through the options on some occasions it told me to call back and ring the tax credits helpline LOL. I wish they would remove the stupid options during the renewal period so we are not getting charged for holding to get through. I did my renewal weeks ago which is why this is sop frustrating.
Does anyone know how long they take to process paper changes of circumstances?0 -

I've also tried them over 30 times in the last few days, so for those who say it's just a case of keep on trying, that's about as much as I can bear in the short time I have before leaving my house for work and the time at home once home from work after eating some food!0
