We asked in JS and the local council offices and were told you can only get them over the phone and sent to you!

Tried the option 4 angle (it was option 3 when I tried). Makes no difference, it just takes a while longer before you get the message "We're sorry, we can't deal with your call at the moment......etc" Very frustrating. I've been trying since last Friday, and at every hour, including 8am and 8pm. I despise these people!

Have not been receiving tax creds since leaving the uk for Canada last year but only just received an annual review (not renewal) pack in the post. Due to postal delays I am now unlikely to meet the deadline!!! Cannot get through at all and am having to set my alarm clock due to time differences. The international helpline just reroutes back to the normal automated service which cuts me off every time with a 'we cannot take your call right now, please call later'.

What will happen if I miss the deadline? I am pretty sure they owe us some money back. Am I unlikely to receive it if I miss the deadline through no fault of my own?

Very frustrating!!

i cant get through to tax credits at all ive been trying for a week now. It runs up my phone bill with all the waffle and then at the last minute tells me they cant deal with me right now and please call back. ive only got until tomorrow

Exactly the same here! I have tried phoning them yesterday and today a few times, but after 3 and a half minutes of listening to automated information, they tell me they cant deal with me as they are too busy!
All i want to do is tell them about a change in my circumstances!

Just got thru, 3rd attempt and 30 min wait to get connected to an advisor - found out it was automatically renewed after all!! So it's busy but will get thru eventually.

Yes, I have been trying to get through for weeks, what a nightmare! I didn't just want to post the forms as I had a couple of questions relevant to the renewal, but was forced to post nevertheless as the helpline was always engaged. This morning I was given another number though, this one:

and managed to get through straightaway. This number is for people living outside of the UK and not every adviser is prepared to take the call but most of them do and are very helpful. Hope this helps!

Well a year after you posted this can I just say a huge thankyou!!!!

I am one of those guilty of always leaving it till the last minute to renew and this year was the same :eek: So after trying to get through for 2 days found this post - dialled the number and it got answered INSTANTLY BY A HUMAN!!!!!!

Not received a renewal pack, but heard all the adverts, so trying to call and give my details. No luck, of course.
Does anyone know an email or postal address that I could send them a one-liner?
