    Bradford & Bingley
    PO Box 88
    Croft Road
    Cross Flatts
    Bradford

I rang them this afternoon on the dedicated phone line shown on this website and they are sending me a refund - no hassle. I asked about interest on the sum adn they said they weren't offerring any although this website says they are. Thanks anyway for the tip. I am £100 better off than I was!

I also am waiting for a £100 cheque from Halifax and was also told that no interest would be added as stated in the website, but I'm not complaining, I'm £100 better off which is great :T
  • just rang up halifax pretending to be my dad :rotfl:

spoke to a very nice woman, gave her the mortgage roll number n she told me we were due £125, £50 originally agreed exit fee at 08/1999, £175 actual amount charged in 08/2006.

cheque will be out within 28 days. no forms, no hassle, just a 5 minute call:money:
  • Mortgage Administration Fee used to be £50.

Increased in January 2005 to £195.
  • I have just spoken to the Halifax Plc regarding MEAF and according to them they are not paying interest. I have just reclaimed my £25 overcharge and it probably cost that in holding twice for at least 10-mins (the first time they cut me off).
  • I remortgaged from the Halifax in April 2005. I have rung them this morning, the fee I paid was £115.00 so I will get £65.00 back. They said I will get a letter within 14 days and will have to sign and return it and then they will send me the cheque. I asked about interest as it stated on the website that the Halifax pay interest on their refund but he said they definitely do not!

I'll let you know if I get the refund.

Stated that on what website, Dawn70? I've never heard of Halifax paying interest. In fact, hardly any lenders are paying interest. (Woolwich being the main ones who are).
  • Halifax will NOT currently refund their Deeds Release Fee as I discovered today. However, their Repayment Administration Fee refund process is very quick, easy and only takes one phone call. I claimed back £135.00. Many thanks Martin.
