Excellent post Needstochange.0

I agree whole heartily with NTC we are all adults and we have a common goal of quitting tobacco and that is not easy for anyone and any support advice knowledge from angles has to be a good thing right ? As adults we have a right to look at the whole picture and then make up our own minds. As always support is the first and foremost
I really do hope this can be resolved folks to everyone's liking .

Sue - I'll pm you when I need your support. I come here for support. This bickering isn't helping anyone. Just makes u want to reach for a cig (which I'm having now btw as my stop date isn't until next week :P )
So I thank you one and all for hijacking yet another thread where we don't want to talk about ecigs or ejuice or whatever all the time.
Where one method takes over a thread it just doesn't work. While I'm happy for those who have managed on ecigs, it isn't for everyone. So while I was looking for support it wasn't ecig users that gave it, it was Sue. On several attempts. No matter what I was using.
It's a support thread, no need to go into the whole argument again about ecigs!!!! Oh tell you what, I'll go over to the ecigs thread and start telling you all about my weird dreams on champix or the nasty rash I get from patches. You see, it doesn't quite work out that way. The only thing that might be welcome there is if I tell you about the nasty coughing fits I had from ecigs. I might get advice then about not sucking too hardor inhaling so deep.
Petty mindedness, imho. Someone says no, it's like little kids stamping their feet to get what they want.
I've said my piece, now I'll bow out gracefully. Don't need all this rubbish during a difficult time

Adios
Nobody has mentioned them at all, nobody is hijacking any thread, the only pettyness is coming from yourself.0 -
Yet.......The other thread was full of it. Bickering bickering and more bickering. I don't need it and will get my support elsewhere.
And if you think it's petty so be it. I'll refrain4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0 -

If you read the bickering on there properly, you will see who exactly instigated and carried it on. Fairs fair.0 -

Careful what you accuse us all of please29th Feb Quit Day :j0 -
I was really pleased when Sue had started up this thread, I had stopped posting on the other as frankly I just couldn't take any more.
Personally I respect whatever way you choose to stop smoking - any help is ideal as it is so difficult - BUT by the same token part of my problem with quitting is the habit of inhaling and also the motion of putting the cigarette in my mouth. Both of which are still present with the e-cig. The fact it is still called a 'cig' also puts me off.
HOWEVER - that's my opinion and I just tried to ignore all the chat about e-cigs even though it was getting to the point I thought some people were on commission.
The problems I had with the other thread were more to do with:
1. Sue has only ever tried to help people and was getting a hard time over it. She freely admitted that she didn't know about e-cigs and couldn't offer advice. Fair enough - she has been running the thread for years and her advice has always been supportive and at least she has the decency to offer advice only within her knowledge base. I think it was unfair that the comments she received were so rude to say the least
2. I didn't find it helpful that a certain poster mentioned in a post that they had 10 roll ups instead of the normal 2 that particular weekend and yet they are a non smoker using the e-cig? I can understand a relapse (I've been there myself) but surely if you say you are a non-smoker it includes not smoking roll ups?? There were several of these posts which I found very unhelpful
My main point is that people need to have a bit of respect. I would never post in a losing weight thread about the amount of chocolate I've eaten (even though I could if I wanted to) and that is because I respect others enough not to do so.
Sue - thanks for all your support but like someone else mentioned I will probably just PM you in future if that is okay?
Whatever option you choose I hope you all manage to stop smoking. Good luck0 -

It strikes me that some people have a lot more more power on this board than others which I guess is human nature but when they are able to start threads with a MSE rubber stamp that clearly go against the rules then I am sorry Andrea that is just wrong. Since when are any of us allowed to decide who can and who cant post on any thread?????
I am probably a bit unusual in that I am not an ecig user and never have been - I have give up cold turkey and did massively appreciate the support everyone inclucing the ecig guys gave me when I was feeling the pain.
Seems totally ridiculous to have more than one thread on the same subject and although I know you wont miss me I will not be getting involved in such games. Andrea please just ask Sue if you can to remove her rule that is blatantly against the rule of MSE (be nice to all moneysavers) and lets just have the one thread which may occasionally have debate over rights and wrongs or cold turkey, e cigs, Alan Carr whatever but hey we are adults and we can cope with debate.
Thats my thoughts for what they are worth - not much i guess
Brilliant post NTC:Ttotal airhead, total bimbo, very superficial:D0 -
It's been 2 days since my last cigarette if I hadn't had that one it rould have been 7 weeks today on wards and upwards for me ;D0
