I know what you mean NTC, I really felt like having one yesterday, but I decided that although I felt like having one I didnt really need one, does that make sense?
Thanks QB xtotal airhead, total bimbo, very superficial:D0 -
I'm on day 25 tobacco free, 750 cigarettes avoided. So far so good.
I know what you mean esme, the thought of having a cig crosses my mind every now and again however it goes just as quick as it pops up.Grocery Challenge Sept 2021 £95.40/£500

Hi everyone.
With the help of this thread and Su-u, I quit three years ago.
It is a wonderful thing to be free of the nagging, destructive and life sapping drug that is nicotine.
I really don't get cravings anymore, though I remember one moment sitting at the laptop and having some kind of memory of inhaling a couple of months ago.
I never got into the e cig thing, did not want to waste money on another substitute, but I did have this little plastic ciggy thing with a herbal smell (called Crafe away - it was £1.99 from the chemist) and I can remember doubts being expressed on the thread about this too. However in the very early days, inhaling it and chewing on it (plus biros) helped me very much.
Minutes turned into hours, hours turned into days and days into months and then it was three years!
I read a multitude of books on it too. I had tried many many times, with successes of 10 months several and times and a 3 year quit but I suppose I still felt I was being deprived in some way.
One other thing to encourage you all. I was not even a heavy smoker - sometimes only smoking at weekends but I still managed to get gum disease. The dentist of course asked if I smoked and whether it was to blame or not, who can tell but the minute you say you are a smoker you are condemned whatever illness you have!
It has cost me a small fortune in visits to a periodontist every six months at £100 a pop for some unpleasant treatment. I certainly do not recommend it.
Just keep on quitting and letting time pass. When you look back it has flown by.
Love to you Su-u and Jammy.Grocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

You will do it too. Great to see you are still around Jammy.
I also had another serious addiction and that was MSE! ;)Seemed to be on here nearly every minute of the day at one time and I had to address that too. I pop in occasionally but don't post much anymore.
Best of luck to you. XGrocery Challenge £139/240 until 31/01

Hey guys,
I came, I did about 20 days, I gave up.
Well, now I’m back, and currently at 22 hours smoke free!
Need to beat 20 days now, and hopefully kick the habit, so here goes! Got the e-cig in bedroom, temporary office, car!
Wish me luck!

WOW! Did that time ever fly by! You told that part right for sure.
It's amazing how JD (Jammy) says she was only thinking of you recently as I was too when I was putting a list together of all members who have successfully quit via the 3 "Giving Up Smoking" threads. I got to your name and reminisced about good chats and experiences shared here between us all. Great times with fantastic people!
