Good morning people............... such a lovely day:)

One thing I have noticed since stopping the nasties is how attuned my sense of smell is...............I walked past a man earlier who obviously had been smoking................. and found that I could smell it............ was very strong:eek:.............. now realise what I must have smelt like to other people after I had had a cigarette:eek:

Isn't the weather great! Have been out shopping this morning and then in the garden planting this afternoon and it's a real mood lifter.

I've also noticed I haven't used my nicotine replacement as much because I've been far to busy. I'm a long way off going cold turkey but reducing the nicotine replacement has got to be a good thing. I'm just glad I can do it at my own speed without the pressure of a smoking nurse telling me when to cut the dosage down. I think It will be a natural process. Anyway so far so good here, no cravings at all for the fags infact they smell that bad other people who smoke make me feel a bit sick.

Took the positive steps of throwing away all the ashtrays and lighters apart from two which I've put in the camping box to light the gas stove when on holiday. It felt great and any visiting smokers will now be asked to go outside.

    Hi all :)
Thank you so much for your congrats :) My hubby has started reading Allen Carr's easy way to stop smoking and is realy starting to enjoy it :) (I found it in charity shop for 49p)! Hubby also started with E-Cigs and has found them ok, it's certainly helped him to cut down so basically do whatever works :)
    Good luck to all :)

So pleased to hear that your hubby is going to join you quitting Jenny, I wish mine would :(

That's part of the reason I think that i'm doing ok this time as, with hubby still smoking, cold turkey and NRT just didn't work for me :(

Well done njk, good for you throwing the ashtrays and stuff out :)

Another reason that I failed the last time with NRT was that the smoking cessation clinic insisted that I reduce from the medium patch to the low one at 8 weeks even though I was about to go on holiday abroad, where you can smoke anywhere, with my smoking hubby :(

I'm now over 4 months smoke free and couldn't care less if I'm still addicted to nicotine. I'm very happy with my choice and feeling so much healthier :)

Good luck to everyone quitting, whatever method they choose and don't forget, if one method fails, try another :) there isn't a method that works for everyone but you never know what will work for you until you give it a go :)

Thanks, It was a really easy decision I know I won't be needing them again.

Has anyone else had a stop smoking spring clean? Now I have my sense of smell back I'm having to scrub every room from top to bottom, I'd hate it if my house smelled of tobacco. I'm looking forward to decorating once the finances are sorted knowing that it will look fresher for so much longer.

Don't think the cleaning obsession will last forever so might as well get on with it while I'm still in the mood, lol.

Not so much a spring clean, as just a regular cleaning of everything as it gets its turn :) My car smells fresher, so does my house and clothing.
