Mobiles.co.uk Cashback Rejected

  • If the rejection is overturned you'd be most unwise to proceed with Money Claim Online; I don't think a judge would be impressed if it got to court - they always expect people to act "reasonably" and settle before getting to court if at all possible. They would be very likely to decide you should have accepted the full payment of your claim rather than commence legal action at that point.

By the way - a while back you hinted at going back to BMP. They are late paying a claim again!

For clarity, I meant if they simply overturned the rejection admitting yet another error and stated cheque would be paid and to allow 6 - 8 weeks. You would be asking for a cheque within 14 days to prevent legal action as you had already had the claim rejected.

re: Buymobilephones - things just don't change in the redemption world!! I would image Affordable Mobiles having the same issues??
    Do they still use vouchers??

  • They do. Not dealt with Affordable for a few months - they were taken over by the BMP owner since then, but appear to be making a comeback. Prior to the takeover they were the most dangerous current dealer for cashback. As part of the same group now, late payments are always of at least slight concern (but nothing new!).

Whether consequential or coincidental I can't say, but late yesterday I received a "Cashback Claim Accepted" email, but again specifying no telephone number or month

Received another meaningless (no mobile number, no month) "Accepted" email today.

So far that's two meaningless "Accepted" emails, one meaningless "Rejected" email, and one "Rejected" email which did specify both mobile and month.

I'll be starting to lose count soon.

    Same bill detail throughout.

    Ho hum.

2 cheques arrived today - 1 cashback queque and 1 compensation cheque. 1 more compensation cheque to follow apparently??
Only 2 more potentially troublesome claims to go via this contract!!

How are you guys getting these compensation cheques - is there some sort of criteria?

I've been doing cashbacks for multiple contracts (around 4-5) for a good number of years now and have settled on mobiles.co.uk as my preferred choice, namely, as they allow you to submit your claims online.

I've had my share of problems with them, but usually an email chasing up the claim or clarifying details usually resolves the problem. Probably at worst, may have had to chase up a 2nd time.

Last time I had to threaten any sort of legal action like LBA etc was a good many years ago when I was with e2save.

For me the savings these contracts afford me completely outweigh the inconvenience of chasing up some claims. (I usually find the family members I get these contracts for, and pay for, usually kill the savings by going over their minutes!)

How much are these compensation cheques for? I can imagine, your probably in profit on the whole contract.

Received further completely useless emails from customer support (I'll spare you the detail)... and then cheque (for correct amount) arrives in post.

So, financially, I have received what I was contractually entitled to - in less than 5 elapsed weeks from my initial submission.

Thanks again to you experienced cashbackers for your helpful suggestions.
Perhaps I'll be back for tips on the small claims route depending on how my remaining four claims go.

    As regards service, appalling.
Based on my experience, I could not imagine much worse customer service being possible.

And claim status on website continues to assert "Unsuccessful".

Would I buy a cashback product from them (or anyone) again?
Only on the basis of financial saving (which clearly can be considerable), and if (on reflection) I reckon the cashbacks can be consistently extracted and I'm up for the hassle.

I'm much better prepared though - battle hardened.

Oh dear. Well, you're learning (unlike some!).

Extraction - always. Worth it - definitely.

    Game - it's great!

As long as you show them the nucs when necessary you'll always win. Of course, you need the right nucs!
  • New with mobile.co.uk cashback.
    Three questions:
-I can see two different addresses to send the bills by post. Which one is the correct one?
-Can I send the bills by email, do I have to use both methods?
-The amounts of cashback next to my months table are wrong, but the contract at the top is correct. Shall I ignore this or try to correct it?

Many thanks for the interesting info in this thread.
