The two main things I have done are avoid debt and rearranged my stock portfolio. The shift towards already corrected parts of the market and avoid long term exposure to high risk shares. I still have a core holding that are long term, but I have shifted strategy to trade technically in others. Not for the faint hearted unfortunately!
To be honest given your 6 pillars of doom that looks a little mundane.
Could your approach be summarised by getting on with life just like everyone else?0 -

OK everyone, stop discussing anything unrelated to the UK. Graham doesn't care, and moreover he has decided to speak for the forum and say that no one else does either. I know, I know, globalisation of industry and commerce means that we cannot consider the UK alone and all that but....
Graham has spoken. :silenced:0 -

And there we have it, ladies and gentleman. Proof positive that some saddos on this form really DO care about 'thanks'. One person even seems to care enough to even create a 'thanks' sockie called rewired. :rotfl:0 -

I prefer clear and precise. I am very much getting on with life. I am very aware of what goes on around me and do not pretend to not see it. It influences my invest choices the most, it is working for me so far. When everything changes again then I will take note. At the moment it is going in slow motion. Almost Japan like with it is slow down, except we don't have the benefit of exports yet.
Can't say any fairer than that really, though feel your efforts are very much wasted here. They are not interested in anything you have to say as you've been labelled and thats that.
I believed a double dip recession was going to happen. I got told to look on the bright side, it wouldn't happen (conrad & others). It did.
I believe the worst is yet to come. Maybe it will, maybe it won't.0 -

Have you had that call from Merv yet? He's got to be interested in someone that's called eight of the last two recessions.0 -
