    Version 1.4 is here - http://208.56.23.24/mse/Auto_Routing_Table_v1_4.zip

Whilst on the subject, Routing Rule 27 (the translation of 192 being dialled to 1280#0800100100) is not currently working because, as Martin has reported, the firms reports it's currently moving premises and reckon to be unavailable for about 6 weeks.

    http://www.freedirectoryenquiries.com/index.htm

Routing Rule 22 (the alternative of the translation to 1280#118226 when the full 6 digits of any 118 number are dialled) is, at a flat rate 23½p for a single enquiry, still the cheapest paid-for landline service.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

    My line provider is BT
My CPS provider = Primus Saver
    Override #1 = 18185 (red herring I believe ;) )

    I have a carrier code #3 programmed as 1280.

I am a little bit confused about a carrier code #0 and the above carrier code #3.
Aren't they doing the same thing?

    My understanding is...
#0 does not route and goes via PSTN. Does this mean BT?
#3 bypasses Primus to go via my line provider BT.

    Tks,
    Mark J

Carrier Code 0 = your 'default carrier' and, as you have Primus as your CPS calls provider, that is your default carrier.

Carrier Code 0 is, effectively, an instruction to the Orchid to do nothing and just let the dialled digits pass through (the same as if you removed the Orchid and just plugged in a phone). Either would mean that the call would go via Primus unless you used a prefix (e.g. 18185 to send the call via 18185 or, of course, 1280 to send it via BT).

In the cold light of day this makes total sense. I think I had been looking at Kevin's spreadsheet and various tariff schedules for too long! I had even stated this in my question!

    Tahnks so much...

It’s not explicitly a ‘set the time only’ button, but there is provision for sending just one cell from the spreadsheet to the dialer.

Assuming you have version 1.4 of Kevin’s work, it’s cell D33 that contains the string which sets day, date and time. Press F9 to update the cell contents, then click on ‘dial single table entry’. This should put the dialer clock back on track.

I hope this will help you.

Thanks for the info' -unfortunately, although I knew Kevin's program doesn't work with Open Office - I thought that as I had Microsoft Works 8.5 on my laptop too I'd be OK, but his spreadsheet doesn't load properly with that either!!

I have set the clock manually (and the local code too!) again, but the V4+ still doesn't dial an 01 number without the "0p / minute" voice, so is still going through 18185 and it is now gone 7pm! - So I will have to try it manually!! and if that doesn't work I suspect a faulty dialer :(

[STRIKE]I'll post a new post for a query on that !![/STRIKE]

I think I've sussed it, but its a bit late to start phoning people up !!

I re-dialled the "01" routing code *### 01 # 3 103 # 02 # - but that didn't help, so I re-set the Weekday Time Code and that didn't help, but after I re-set the Weekend Time Code it seemed to get through via BT to my test number!

Hope that may help someone in the future!

    Speedee :)

Does this help by any chance?
OpenOffice.org 3 Calc can execute many Excel macros, but (for security reasons) you must manually enable this feature. Choose Tools > Options > Load/Save > VBA Properties and enable the Executable code checkbox.
    (from http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Documentation/FAQ/Macros/Can_I_use_my_Microsoft_Office_macros%3F)

Or, if not, perhaps the Novell enhanced version might work?
The Novell Edition of OpenOffice.org is based on the latest version of the community project—OpenOffice.org 3.0—with significant enhancements. In the Novell Edition, you get a host of leading productivity features not found in the upstream project. It comes with improved compatibility with Microsoft Excel, stronger Visual Basic macro support, and richer file import capabilities (e.g., ability to read Microsoft Works, WordPerfect, and scalable vector graphics files). The Novell Edition also supports built-in 3D transitions in slide presentations and stronger forms support.

Download Kevin Lawry's Excel spreadsheet - http://208.56.23.24/mse/Auto_Routing_Table_v1_9.zip (that assumes a BT landline, a CPS calls carrier which gives inclusive evening and weekend UK 01/02/03 calls and a 18185 account).

Use the spreadsheet to develop your own program. If you don't know the details of your Orchid's current program, clearing it completely is probably the best starting point. To do so:

(1). Clear the entire Carrier Code table by entering the following sequence on your telephone keypad:
    ** # 0000 * 2222 * 6

(2). Clear the entire Routing Code table by entering the following sequence on your telephone keypad:
    ** # 0000 * 1111 * 6
