I have recently tried to change my dialler programme which has been working fine for several years and discovered that the Orchid web client is no more. However they kindly sent me a copy of my current programme and as it is only minor changes I will do it manually.
But on looking at the routing table the lines are numbered 01,02,.....09 then 1,2,3,4,5,6, when it resumes the order 16,17.....etc. The line numbers at the end of the code follow the same configuration. Has any one else seen this?
I would have thought that as the standard table translates the single digit line numbers to 01,02 etc. at the end of the line it would get mixed up with the singe digit and leading zero numbers in my programme. Any ideas?0 -
You lost me there lucyt (welcome to the MSE forums BTW).
I think you're saying that the table (was it an Excel spreadsheet?) which Orchid sent you has errors in the Routing table row/rule numbering. If so, I'd say they made a series of typos.
If that is the case, just follow Kevin's numbering system
http://208.56.23.24/mse/Auto_Routing_Table_v1_4.zip (which uses row/rule numbers 01, 02 etc.) for programming one of your rules (i.e. if you're changing your rule 5, use the suffix 05# in the program string).
The Routing rules should be numbered consecutively starting at 01 and ending at 99 (not that you're ever likely to use that many).Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.0 -
Thank you Heinz for your reply. Yes it is the usual Excel table similar to the web client and to Kevin's programme. As I don't have a modem at present I cannot use this so I am reluctant to redo the entire table.
The point I am trying to clear up is that in the routing table the lin es 01 to 09 are numbered correctly but line 10 is actually numbered 1 and the code is "###1470#6000#1#
Now if I wish to alter this line do I put 1 or 10 at the end of the new code? If I put #10# will the dialer know that it is the present #1# I am trying to alter?
This anomally continues for five more lines then resumes correctly with line 16. Any further help would be apreciated.0 -
That has got to be a typo (or series of) but, to be on the safe side, I'd suggest a quick phone call to Toby or Maggy at Orchid to query it.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hello
Tonight, we have noticed that we are not receiving the message as we dial out...."zero pence" etc. I have reprogrammed the date but that has not helped.
Does anyone have any ideas?
We have a Dect ranger.
Many thanks.0 -
Evening 01/02/03 calls go out - free - on Primus, not on 18185 so, if the Orchid (Ranger) is working correctly, you wouldn't expect to hear the tariff announcement.Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. I see from Kevin's spreadsheet an 0808 number is used for 0845/0870 numbers. How does that work?0

Thanks for that, Heinz! I never use the phone in the evenings except maybe to call the children on their mobiles so would not have noticed this.
Just shows how little I know about this setup and how much I rely on you and others on this forum. One day, I will find the time to learn it all!0
