I'm off to Edinburgh this weekend with my other half and niece. We are going to the Dungeons and having lunch, does anyone know if they have any Christmas markets there ?

Thank you Mumofthreeplusoh :) she's such a superstar. I always enjoy a trip to Chester but usually go in the summer around my birthday when the races are on, don't think I've been Christmas shopping there. Ooooh I feel a plan brewing!
I love the Christmas markets, I like to go when it's gone dark with the lights and the atmosphere and of course the "street food" yum.
Con1888 I'm sure on of the lovelies will be along with info about Edinburgh :) although it is somewhere I'd love to go. DS went when he was around 11yrs with a friend and his parents on a coach trip and he loved it, raved about the castle etc (always stuck in my head cos at 11yr he raved about very little:))

Quick google revealed there are indeed Christmas German markets in Edinburgh from 29th Nov hth x

  • Help!

I have lost my festive :(

Am stuck at work for the next two days (working in close proximity with someone I would rather not be) and I wont have a chance to do anything festive :(

I am getting really behind now :( People will be lucky to get one home made gift from me, never mind all of them.

Yea, I think I might need to add butter too but I dont have any until tomorrow! How did you add it? did it need to be melted?

I keep 'testing' mine too and I really shouldnt lol

I used 50g unsalted butter just cut them up into tiny bits, creamed together in my hands (next time will use the whisks lol) and added in and mixed the whole lot together, put back in the fridge for an hour and turned out well! Ive just handed half a dozen to the girls in work and they are now wishing to have a big mug of coffee and a sit down, the reaction from every single person was well worth the 6 hours of panic yesterday :T Will maybe try adding extra chocolate next time! I also started on a white chocolate batch lastnight which Im going to add a bit of icing sugar to tonight and dip in melted chocolate to give a hard shell hopefully these will work too!
Life is what you make it.

    2 week 5:2=5.5lb off.
  • Started the horrid wrapping last night blah! its clear that i haven't got enough 'personal' gifts for my eldest.. so shall get her a hairdryer (with argos voucher) own towel, puzzle (one of those brainteaser ones or maybe solitaire i've seen in m&s) dressing gown, mug with socks in, and a big box of chocolates.. Probably don't need to really but the others have so much to open from the bargains i've collected this year i don't want her to feel missed out on.. Also found £50 in my paypal account i'd forgotten about so can use that to treat her.

I've got to start the downstairs clean up this week, declutter the living room so we can put decs up, move toys back upstairs lol, find the kitchen after the weekend and do more washing.. libbie is currently watching a muppets xmas film then i noticed the 12dogs of christmas is on another channel at 11 so we'll have something to keep the spirit flowing while doing the manky jobs lol

I think i've cracked dh into the spirit of not being grinch! lol noticed tescos had their small xmas trees (real ones) for sale and he commented that would be perfect for the window you want to decorate :O... quickly followed by a 'bah humbug' and a wink LOL So once bill week is out of the way i shall get one :D

used to put reindeer antlers on my labradors ... they lasted all of 2 minutes! one year when I was about 12 I made a sleigh out of a box with tinsel and wrapping paper, attached it to the dog with reins of tinsel and she towed everyones's presents into the living room from me in the sleigh with antlers on!
