  • I put my christmas tree up yesterday. I then uploaded the picture to facebook. The amount of negative comments I received was ridiculous. Baring in mind I'm due on boxing day, I put up my christmas tree while I could still do it with ease. GRR!!
Trying to save up for a deposit for a mortgage....could be a while!!

Comping since 15/06/2014 - thanks to all those who post the competitions ❤️😀

That really annoys me when people can't just let someone do what makes them happy

I put my christmas tree up on 1st December and usually have it down by new year. People on facebook always tell me I'm taking it down too early and I should be waiting till 12 days after christmas.

Who cares what they think, I'm sure your tree is beautiful xx

it really annoys me when people write negative comments, if you dont have anything nice to say, dont say anything at all!

I expect they are just jealous!

Chessiex - what a shame, I don't get why people need to be so negative about people putting their tree or deccies up - surely it's personal preference. I would love to be able to do ours earlier, but OH's birthday is at the start at December so we always agree to leave it until after then.
  • I came across these Christmas traditions and thought that I would share. It's an American site but some of them are so lovely!

I hope you told them that, and hope it made them feel very guilty for being so rude!

Rosygirl I feel the same, my virtual family on here matter. I even put Pinknfluffys birthday in my calendar :)
My3girls so sorry your DD has been back in hospital - due you mean you are back in again over the weekend? Bless her. X
Alja glad to see you posting, how have you been getting on?
Reformedshopaholic I've resisted starting that one up to now. However I did get the Carole Matthews short story one over the weekend and have allowed myself the first story:)
Well done pinksteps I was thinking of trying to do a similar thing with my freezer (only thinking) I know what you mean about our organisation thanks to the lovelies on here. It's happened quite painlessly and even fun:)
Cheesiex there are some very thoughtless people about. Defo well jel! Ha listen to me! Take no notice of them. Do you think you could pop a photo on here, I could do with a 'fix' mine isn't going up for three weeks yet.
Islandgirl8 I've bookmarked that blog to have a proper read of later. Thank you I had a quick peep some of the ideas were cute:) x

Linky have your tea and a breather for a few mins then I neeeedd to hear all about your weekend. I was gutted when I dragged my DH to the footie on Saturday (if I'd not been going I thought could maybe get the tram into Bury and meet up for a coffee) only to get to the footie and I'd got the days mixed up and the game is next week :(:(:( aarrrghh

  • just got back from a stroll around tesco, picked up brave dvd for dd2 stocking, and ted dvd for dd1. They had the lego heavy lift helicopter for £11.88!!! I payed £22 from amazon and that was reduced from £35, gutted :-(
nothing really caught my eye though.
My amazon spree is complete, got only fools & horses monopoly as our "family" gift from santa, few more dvds and books, the lego offer, moshi superfan pack & couple of novelty only fools & horses items for dh stocking, rrp of £144.76 and I paid.... £68.43!!! Amazon is great sometimes if you dont want those "must have" items this close to xmas!!
Off to see coke truck on thursday, cant wait !!!
It's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.

Thanks to those who have confirmed yes there will be a market, hope it's signposted and easy to find as I don't know Edinburgh well ( we're from just outside Glasgow)

I'm off to Edinburgh this weekend with my other half and niece. We are going to the Dungeons and having lunch, does anyone know if they have any Christmas markets there ?

The Christmas markets, fun fair and outdoor ice rink all open this weekend, and are in Princes Street Gardens which is very close to the Dungeons anyway. There's also sometimes a smaller one on Castle Street, which is just off Princes St. I'd also recommend going to a bar/restaurant on George Street called The Dome. They always have amazing xmas decorations and a huge tree in the middle of the bar that goes right up to the ceiling (be warned, it's a little pricey in there if you're doing more than looking though :)) Hope you have fun!
