For those of you reading Christmas books I have just read a wonderfully christmassy book called Mistletoe and magic - I originally got it as a free book on Amazon but think it is being charged for again now. It's 2 books in one - the first is completely filled with Xmas and decorations and trees etc and a happy ending!

Could you tell us who the author is please? I had a look and there is a few with that title

I gave dh my christmas list today, he asked me to do one as he's no idea what to get me for christmas or my bday on weds. This shocked me as usually he just buys me the "normal" gifts, perfume, undies etc. I actually struggled to think of anything i want, so my list consisted of undies, perfume & a new purse. He took one look at it & said "why do i even bother trying to change things, there must be something you want" ive told him i will have a think & try again tonight. I honestly cant think of anything, does everyone have this problem? for me, christmas is about giving, not receiving, but as i have the oppertunity to get spoilt a little i want to make most of it. What are the rest of you asking for???
    :rudolf:

I have opposite problem to you, no idea what to get OH although already spent £150 on the usual books, top, weekend away etc then today I asked and all I got in reply was "a gadget for the car or office" seriously that doesnt help me, I consider gadgets tacky wouldnt have a clue what a "cool gadget" would be lol.

Is there maybe a book you want? (i know boring but still) or a new top? You going on holiday in the near future you could get something for? What about a facial I love those!

Im same as you never really think of what Im getting its more about what Im getting other people, OH thinks Im easy to buy for but thats just because I appreciate everything as I never expect it. never easy thinking of things for yourself though lol
Life is what you make it.

moneysavingmumofone hope your DS feels better soon. Sounds like he's having a nice treat to cheer him up. :)

Did you get the BF Harry Potter Bluray set? I got that but now I've got to to get the bluray player to go with it. DS1 can use his Playstation but we don't have one downstairs. A bit backwards I think! :rotfl:
Thanks. :) He's fallen asleep now, I do feel sorry for him poor thing. Yes got the Black Friday deal! :) So pleased as OH thinks its still £35 and I cant afford it! :D Hopefully you'll find an amazing bluray player deal. :D
moneysavingmumofone I may ring up the store and ask for any information they have. The thing online only gives limited info!!
Its not very clear online is it, I did email about the £20 voucher offer and they said no terms and conditions except for it can only be used after the holidays. (sounds too good to be true, we'll see lol) Obviously freeee would be better. :D

I got a few bits on the 3 for £10 in Asda a few days ago. (on certain xmas biscuits and boxes of choc) Got the ferrero xmas tree for MIL, Lindt bear set for my sister and the gorgous Cadburys carousel biscuit tin for meeeee. :D Going to scrap the wrapping presents plan as I dont feel very well, bed sounds much better! (as soon as OH gets in from work as he has no key grr)

chicky - i have tried many ways over the years to keep the kids off the tree, the most sucessful was buying a smaller tree and some decs and letting them take the baubles off and re-decorate as they pleased!
this year my 7.5ft tree is staying in the loft (sob! i love my tree) and we have bought a 5ft which will go on the sideboard. im hoping ill be able to squeeze our EVIL fairy on the top.
this is down to having a 19month old and a puppie!

My birthday is 16th- when I was little, mom always put the tree up ready for my birthday. It made it all more special.
Now I would just like to have a birthday where I didn't feel I had to go out to buy Christmas gifts for others. Maybe this year will be it?

my birthday is also the 16th and the tree always went up on my bday when i was younger. i always got to put the angel on the top too which made me feel superioir (sp?) to my older brother and sister :rotfl:

Pinknfluffy ooh it's nearly your birthday:) I'm the same as regards presents. DH and I don't do presents seen as tho we are joined at the hip and spend 24/7 together :) joint account etc etc. Ut when others ask for ideas I'm stumped! There isn't really anything I need, I'd rather they were out and about on general days and saw something and thought of me! Rather than it been forced, I'd much rather have a bar of choc just cos somebody I love thought I'd fancy one:) x

Thank you for all the healing vibes and good wishes for my DSiL. Spent the afternoon with her today and although she is very poorly and shattered(she been fighting a week now) we still had a giggle. Well I giggled and she mimed one with her tracheotomy :) They were starting another blood transfusion as we left so hoping that'll give her a bit more energy too. Thank you again you truly are a lovely bunch of people:)
Princessx87 ooh I was so jealous it sounded so festive at yours. Must make a little start on my wrapping this week too.
Jakesbakescakes your too sounded wonderful:) Thankfully my Christmas spirit is returning with the help of you lot.
It's so good to see you back and feeling like posting again Rosygirl we've missed you and your updates.
Mi55piggy just tried to pop the book you recommended onto my wish list so I could keep my eyes on it in case the prices comes down again but couldn't find it:( Any chance you can remember the author?
Chickywiggle I love your tree:) and the guard makes it look like one of those displayed in a posh public place. Last year when my DGD2 was almost one my DD had about three baubles left on her tree. It was constantly being stripped! This year she's getting the the little one her own little tree that she can dress and undress and will chop her fingers off if the come near the main tree:( ha aha
Weeclick I love your whole room too, it looks so warm and festive. Can't put mine up yet for ages. I don't like to move off the sofa when it's up I like to just gaze at the tree and lights in awe:) x

Moneysavingmumofone you are right, obviously I am biased but the family I talk too (long story and sadly you can't choose them) are truly wonderful. I am blessed to have them:) The love you give comes bounding back and more. I am a very lucky lady. xxx
Hope your DS is feeling better. Earache is horrible it's awful to see them suffering:(

Im shocked too! Any other year she'd run a mile but this year shes really into all of "christmas" so far! She waits by the cupboard where I keep the wee scarf when we go out and expects us to put it on her first thing in the morning and as soon as we get back in! I even caught her sticking her whole head right into a stocking!! Shes not so well behaved when it comes to ribbon though dont know how many times Ive had to tell her to leave the presents alone and its only been out 1 day lol :naughty:
    How cute!! :)

I will let you know what I find out from them tomorrow!!
    Thankyou. :)

I struggle to think of something I'd like for Christmas. I had 2 things but my mum has covered them both: I struggle with hats and saw those hooded scarves so she got me one of those whilst we were in debenhams last week (25% off :T) and I was wondering if those mini sewing machines were any good, and she reminded me we "shared" a machine that lives under her stairs gathering dust for the last decade. So that is now at my house too. There's nothing else I want really. Fabric off cuts to sew with?

Do love my new hood though, very cosy...

By sticking do you mean a bit gooey? Mine was like that until I added the butter it would of been impossible to roll without it. I used a teaspoon worth at a time, rolled in my hands (got very messy after a dozen or so, so kept washing hands and it made it easier to roll) and then rolled in shredded chocolate. They are yum, still a bit gooey but edible, hoping by putting them in the fridge for another few hours will help, def coating them in the chocolate has made it far easier to pick up problem is Im on a diet so shouldnt be picking any up ;) haha

Yea, I think I might need to add butter too but I dont have any until tomorrow! How did you add it? did it need to be melted?

I keep 'testing' mine too and I really shouldnt lol
