Ooh Nic so very sorry to hear such sad news. Your Mum sounds like she'd have been very much at home with us on here:) Cherish those happy Christmas memories they are with you forever and with them a little bit of your darling Mum:) xxxThe secret of Christmas
It's not the things you do at Christmastime
But the Christmas things you do
All year through0 -
I have been at work this morning so nothing christmassey going on here. Last night I made up the snowman soup for my niece and nephew. Hope the marshmallows last until then? I did wrap them up in their own tiny cellophane bag so hopefully will be fine.
Only made them this early as we got the Christmas stuff out yesterday and got our Christmas mugs out, but OH has decided he likes the ones I got from Home Bargains the other week much better so thought oh I'll just see how one looks all made up, then figured I may as well make the other one up. (can't help it I'm impatient and excited for it to be Christmas already)
So now instead of having the soup in just a cellophane bag they are now in a mug with cellophane wrapping and snowflake confetti! Although the best part is that when we went out for my Birthday meal in October they were given some snowman pictures to colour in, they left them at my house so I claimed them to use for glueing the poem to and will write their names on them, so now they are bit more personal13 projects in 2013 0/130 -

So sorry to hear your loss nic!
Well today I had to pop into stretford for bf's mums Xmas cards and I got all my cards, 2 more Xmas sacks (fabric like snowmen and Santa from £1land) I also got a plastic box for stepdads hamper & some microwave popcorn in a box to go with it, I then went into a different shop && picked up a large glass jewelery box for £5 (very chuffed as was ment to be £15) I also got a silicone Xmas mold for choc men (to make with my brother) some Xmas activities to do with my brother && got myself some shows for £5 so was a good day
Is it bad that I've just spent £500 on my bf for Xmas ontop of the bits I've already got him? We don't have any children && are living with his mum ATM so not much rent and we are saving for our own house but this was money I had extra to the savings!! Ooops think I might have gone a little over board! Although I know he will love it all && he deserves it after the year he has had!! Not very mse though!! (Some items were in offer though so manged to get more for the money than would have done before)
My presents have just came off my bf && I opened them thinking it was his mums as she told me too ooops but I'm very spoilt this yeardidn't even know he got me what he has!!

I work for New Look, we have a problem with the cracker gift cards, certain batches are faulty, and some of the barcodes arent working! It is a £5 top up for this gift card and the music download gift card, the rest are £1 top ups
x
Aww thanks for letting me know its appreciated! I decided to get a paper amazon voucher in the end and a puzzle maze off ebay to put it in! Its a shame it didnt wrk as I was buying some jeans and was happy to buy £5 on the card and then knock it off the jeans but hey ho, things happen for a reason!
Now a not xmas dilemma my lovely two week old is so unsettled at night, up from around 9 until 3-4 completely awake, she wants to be fed lots and sometimes likes the dummy for a short while but is really cranky the rest of the time and I just don't know what to do - she's an angel in the day! Just cant believe how awake she is!Spreading a little Christmas joy all year round :santa2:0 -
Been on ChristmasTime UK and ordered an advent calendar (proper one, not chocs one, just hope the pics are nice as last year's was a bit crap), a couple of artificial berry sprays for one of my vases and a decorative berry tree and miseltoe tree in pots with battery operated lights for my little forest. :j
Got so many lights going on I worry about the plugs situation so was pleased to find something battery operated.0 -

msgigglewick lots of hugs, I know what you mean - I used to get a little bit upset that my mum always gives me stuff that is so not 'me', she very kindly does me a small stocking with a few bits in but very often its stuff Id never really use or like, such as chocolate with something in that I hate like marzipan, last year I got a nice top ...3 sizes too big! used to upset me but now I try not to let it spoil Christmas and we have a little joke about it.
Last Christmas my lovely DD bought me a box of pickled onion Walkers crisps!I had been complaining they are my favourite but you can just never get them anywhere and she got me a whole box! was so touched and was such a lovely thing to do ...and they were soooo delicious!
It can feel deflating when youve put so much thought in only to get something very generic which can make you feel like less thought has gone into it, like when my mum bought me Lily of The Valley bath salts!! I know not everyone has the time or isnt so organised as we are, but it is always nice to feel somebody has gone out of their way to make or buy something they know is 'you' xxx0
