nic2075 sorry for your loss. Sure your mum would want you to enjoy Christmas and make it special for your family xxx
I've decided my tree is going up on 9th December as too many Christmas Fayres on 1/2nd and 8th! Can't wait. Love putting the tree up, and watching a Christmas film whilst doing it :-) We have a pre-lit Christmas tree. Always had a real tree until last year when money was a bit tight and couldn't afford a real one so put my pre-lit one up and it looked gorgeous so doing the same again this year. Going to see if I can get any more Disney decs :-) xTink0 -
Not been on for a few days so lots to catch up on.
Nic - so sorry to hear about your mum. It is really difficult when you hope, that what we consider to be small milestones are actually much bigger for someone we love.
Omo, hope the finger heals quickly.
Hugs for those not going through a great time at the moment.
Question for those craft minded amongst you. I have bought wooden gift tags which can be personalised and then become tree dec. Have painted them and personalised, now need to varnish. Finally managed to get varnish (didn't want to buy much and then suddenly realised this morning that we may have some in yard, work for a construction company so will just borrow the tin to do the little bit of varnishing which needs to be done!) Anyway, any suggestion on how/what to hang them while they dry completely as both sides will be varnished. They are about 4" plus ribbon, so will need to be looking at about 10" dropA smile costs little but creates much0 -

Morning, I really miss this thread, I've not been on for a couple of weeks. I've lost all Christmas spirit.
Sadly I lost my beautiful Mum last Thursday. She had cancer and had battled for over a year, but we thought she would see Christmas and my sister new baby due Feb. but this last bit defeated her
She is now pain free, but I miss her so much. We are about to drive over 200miles for her funeral tomorrow.
Not sure if you remember, but my Grampa also died just a month ago. I feel for my poor Dad, losing his Dad and wife within a month
My Mum loved Christmas and gave me and my sisters fantastic Christmas memories and traditions. I want to pass these on to my own kids. So I know I'll get my Christmas spirit back, as that's what she would of wanted.
I'll be back on once I get through this hard time.
This thread always cheers me up x
I'm new to this thread, but just wanted to say how sorry I am to hear about your Grampa and your Mum. Hope all goes well tomorrow.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

Sorry to hear about your mum, nic, may she rest in peace x
My two littlies are watching the polar express, they are absolutely riveted. I'd forgotten how nice it is. shame DS keeps asking what's going to happen next, lol. I wish he'd just be patient. Perhaps he inherited that from his mum...
Yesterday I was in m&s and they had a pack of 3 Christmas cookie cutters for £7.50:eek: so went on eb@y last night and got a tub of 10 for just over half that. I've also been really naughty and ordered a rather pricey nativity scene. It is lovely though, and not porcelain so DD can play with it, and I can teach them the greatest story...Bossymoo
