OMO hows the finger today??Gettingtherequickly wrote: »Question for those craft minded amongst you. I have bought wooden gift tags which can be personalised and then become tree dec. Have painted them and personalised, now need to varnish. Finally managed to get varnish (didn't want to buy much and then suddenly realised this morning that we may have some in yard, work for a construction company so will just borrow the tin to do the little bit of varnishing which needs to be done!) Anyway, any suggestion on how/what to hang them while they dry completely as both sides will be varnished. They are about 4" plus ribbon, so will need to be looking at about 10" drop
they sound nice. i would 2nd the washing peg thing mentioned above.Afternoon all.
chickywiggle Looked at the cupcake boxes for the mugs, but they're far too small. However, Apparently Poundland have cellophane bags in with gold stars and a ribbon to tie it. So I'm going to see if I can hunt those down, add a cardboard base to hold the mug steady, and add some shredded tissue paper to pretty it up on the inside. Just hope I can find them now! I know my friend at the cake shop said she'd brought out the supply in the one store, so she'll sell me one of her stock if I can't find them for myself. lol.
thanks for letting me know, will have a look in poundland next time I'm that way.
I have found the boxes on ebay but there is no dimensions given :mad:loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
LMAO OMO! I love reindeer in underwear!
hugs to you PinknFluffy it must be so hard going through that but also having to watch your OH going through it, must be very hurtful and sounds like they and his ex need a good slap! are they like this when they are with you? Im guessing his ex isnt a great influence by the sounds of it, such a shame as shes doing them damage, she sounds very spiteful and its very hard to deal with people who are like that, we are here if you want to chatxx

welcome to newbies and de-lurkers! xx
Ive finally found the pressie Ive been seraching the house for, written my cards, wrapped the Christmas Eve hampers, very pleased with those - I wrapped each persons gifts in a different colour wrap, then made each one into a hamper of sorts by laying it on a big sheet of Christmassy printed cellophane, gathered it all at the top with curling ribbon matching the wrapping paper and a tag, really then also wrapped my Mums stocking ...thats it for today!
tomorrow Im going to get all the address for cards and pressies Im posting and hopefully get them sorted for next week0 -
For those of you doing Movie Hampers this year, I stopped into H@me Bargains and they had some popcorn with the cardboard popcorn box attached (like you have in the Cinema). They were 49p each (I think). I bought them for my children's Christmas Eve hamper.0

So I need to make 25 little boxes or similar to fit in holes, they need to be at least 1.5inch x 1.5inch & no bigger than 2" x 2". If anyone has any ideas or templates I would be eternally grateful. Example of things going in them: moshi figures, Lego figures, lip balms & small bath bombs. Thanks in advance will be waiting patiently (ish) till home from work to get back on here :rudolf:

Nic, so sorry to hear your news. Hope tomorrow goes to plan and you can celebrate your mum's life with those who knew and loved her.
I'm off work today as DS had a raging temperature last night (he's 5 on Monday) so whipped him off to the docs this morning as we had little sleep and I was struggling to keep his temp below 40. Turns out he has tonsilitus and is now one medicine for it. He loves to watch films, so I thought we could snuggle up and watch a Christmas film, but no....Toy Story 3 and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were his selection. Hey ho!
My DD is bear mad and i've just bought her this http://www.buildabear.co.uk/shop/productdetail.aspx?ProductSKU=416699&Category=Winter+Favourites&CallingPage=ProductSummary for the grand sum of £6. Not sure if she will get ot for Christmas as she is 'technically' finished or I keep it for her birthday in January. Bears from here are lovely!0 -

They'd be ok I think Chigglewiggle. On looking at the ebay listing, it says that the boxes will fit their mugs. Had a look at the mugs they sell, and the size of them is 9cm tall, 8cm dia. will hold 10 fl oz. Hope that helps chick. x
Have just finished all the housework, and an now tapping my foot as to what to do. V tempted to zip into the town to see if I can find the bags... Or do more wrapping. I've already been out today and done the food shopping, etc. And it's blowing an absolute Hooly outside!
I brought lots of the 3 for £1.00 bags of sweets today from Mr A, and A1d! I'm going to make up those little section screw/nut boxes that P0undland sell, into sweetie boxes for son and his GF. They're both 18, but who doesn't like sweets? :huh:0 -
Just had a very productive outing to the outlet near my work in my lunch break.
Went into hallmark and saw a elf absolutely perfect for elf on the shelf. We did have a reindeer but so pleased we now have a proper elf and best of all he was £2.79!!!!
And went into next and they had the biscuit barrel that matches our tea coffe sugar canisters and has now been discontinued just one lonely barrel sat there reduced to £6!!!!!0 -
Oh Nic, so sorry for your loss, I have some understanding of how you feel, i was 15 when I lost my beautiful mum and amazing Grandad a day apart. I hope that the funeral helps you and your dad find some peace.0
