    Hi elfs and elfettes

Spent the morning making up my photobooks on snapfish, so now sorted for both my aunties and pre-xmas gift for in-laws. Took me ages as I got absorbed looking at all the piccies of our 2 DD's!

Started a clear out of the playroom and found a great box for the kids xmas eve hamper, it was a ballet treasure chest so am going to decorate with lovely xmas paper and fill with our xmas eve goodies, thank god have managed to negotiate Xmas Eve off work, I was getting minor panic attacks about having to go in to work, I love Xmas Eve, probably more so than Xmas Day. I find it all so magical, watching NORAD, prepping veg, watching Xmas films, it really is a wonderful day and night in our house and the thought of not being here until teatime was awful. However, does mean that I will have to work next year - argh!

Any one any ideas how to make a boring classroom look like a fabulous Santas Grotto with hardly any money! Have been on freecycle sights to see if anyone got any decs they don't want.
Im on our school pta a seem to have taken on organising the xmas bazaar. Got plenty of outside stalls coming. Now need to sort out some money earners for the school. Gonna make up some candy cones and some snowman soups to sell want something else simple. Not reindeer food as i'll have that on my own stall!

    .

wrap lots of empty boxes in cheap wrap to make presents
£land sometimes do white glittey cloth that would be good for snow/icicles though any white material & glitter would work
how old are the kids? you could get them to decorate paper/ card candy canes/baubles ect to hang aswell as snow flakes

what about mystery bags for the school xmas bazzar? basically just get any cheap gift bags and fill them with little xmassy gifts/crafts/sweets usually quite popular with the kids
last yr someone sold jars of gifts same idea just any old jar filled with random tat/sweets tied with ribbon but the kids went mad for them

That's not sad lol! At least, I hope it isn't as I've done that a few times. I've even looked through the likes of pin interest for ideas and pinned an entire collection lol! :o

My local Mr T had sold out of the selection boxes this afternoon. Might try and pop into Lidl tomorrow for the 17p chocolate. At that price, I'm very tempted to try some of the wonderful chocolate present ideas people have been sharing on here. :)

I've been on pininterest too! I love the Christmas stuff on there! :D
    Yayyy Can't wait till Christmas!!
Saving and buying for Christmas 2013!! :rudolf::xmassmile:xmastree::snow_grin :D
  • I got my choccie moulds from ebay back in August. They were shipped over from China, made of silicone and feature gingerbread men and candy canes. Best part is they were only £2!

Very excited to whip some up soon :)

God bless the 99p store! :)

Thank you very much for the warm welcome :)

Weeclick chocolate stirrers are on my list to make - but I'm planning these a version with marshmallows on. I have it on my pinterest Christmas DIY gift board but can't post the link as I'm a newbie :(

I'm not sure how long they will keep though - really hope I don't end up rushing around like a loon to close to Christmas with all these perishable pressies to make!

Pickled onions are finally peeled! Lost 2lbs in the topping/tailing and peeling process (may have been a bit over-zealous) am just waiting for the brine to cool and then they will be dunked!

Mine are done, just waiting for them to set now, also made a chocolate slab and ruined a batch of fudge  will have to leave it a few weeks and try again, nothing worse than spending all that time cooking for it to be wrecked at the very last second
Life is what you make it.
  • Hi all :-) hope everyone's doing ok!
Need to pick your brains again..
My mom has asked my dad for a coffee/beverage machine for Xmas, as always it's down to me to sort it out then he gives me the money! She wants to do coffee as well as hot chocolate etc.. I was looking at the Tassimo T65. If anyone could shed any light as to whether they are worth the money I'd be grateful. Also I was going to get her some pods for it so if anyone knows the cheapest regarding them, that would be fab!

My official start to Christmas is tonight! IM A CELEB! Once that starts I know it's definitely coming, I always start wrapping when it's on!

the cake kit will be fine- im sure that the alcohol will have preserved it, and if i can make the cakes in march and we can eat them in december then the kits should be just the same. go for it and just make sure you feed the cake a couple of times before decorating to give it an extra preservation :D

Sales, boots, charity shops, ebay- why would anyone ever pay full price for anything??!
