Hi there lovelies, room for one more?
I made a vow that this Christmas was going to be done on a budget! Had my budget saved and was looking forward to a stress free (and debt free Christmas) Sadly my little Smart car has decided to break it's starter motor and am now having to pay a whopping £1k to get it back on the road
I had planned to mainly make most of my presents as 'thought' it would be cheaper - it isn't! I have supplies coming out of my ears, a big dent in my bank account and no finished presentsReally need to get a move on!
Job for today is pickled onion making - I have 7lbs of the blighters to prepare![/COLOR]2024 Challenges
Live in the moment more and appreciate the small things0 -
All your talk about Hampers has worn off on me I've got the bug now! Think I'm going to do at least 3, how much fun are they? x0

morning! Autumngirl I walked down to Homebase again this morning and picked up a tube of the ice blue/midnight blue/pewter sleigh bells, 2.99 with a 15% off, I saw the open baubles, arent they gorgeous? am thinking of using the pewter sleigh bells to tie around my napkins
have never seen such lovely stuff in H'base before, I didnt need anything new either, expecially as I got the fibre optic colour change tree from mr T but I couldnt resist the snow covered sapling and the two white reindeer! *must...stop ...now*
*sends hugs to lovely Nanamia * thank you, and you are also one of our lovliest posters!!xx
welcome newbies! so lovely to have so many joining us, this is such a magical happy thread, love to hear what everyone is buying, crafting and watching - every time somebody says they've just watched Polar Express for the first time and loves it a sleigh bell rings!Just the most gorgeous film ever! xx

welcome!
am so sorry about your car, isnt it frustrating?? mine is suddenly making an odd noise, garage says it is possibly exhaust, tho its only done 25k miles so it shouldnt be! they are unable to do anything as cant find anything specific wrong and its driving fine, but a new exhaust would be so expensive! they said keep an eye on it and my journeys are short, but its MOT, tax and insurance in december, argh! xx0 -
Well I have spent the morning making Gingerbread with the girls. Just need to make them look more Christmassy now :-)
They should be nice to eat later while we watch the polar express. I hope it's as good as everyone says. What age range do you think it's suitable for?0 -
:T Apart from my Secret Santa gift I have finished all my Christmas Gift shopping :T. Very chuffed indeed!! I will write a post after Christmas actually outlining what I bought everyone, that way it may help for Christmas 2013, but no eyes can see and spoilt the surprise0

I'm in the doghouse
Was my friends birthday, she lives quite a way from here so gave her her present about 6 weeks ago when she was here. To her disgust, her hubby put it in the attic as he knew she would not be able to get at it before yesterday. Sent her a quick text yesterday morning as I was going out and got a response saying thank you for the present but she still had not actually opened it, was exercising restraint and would open it when hubby got back after walking the dog.
Well, to his disgust and her absolute joy, she opened a box containing 3 very large tea light holders of Santa doing various things. She is a bigger Christmas nut than all of you put together and had been told she was not to buy any more Christmas decorations! Hubby not happy that I circumvented the situation, even less happy that she had them on the window a glow last night!A smile costs little but creates much0
