  • Ooh that sounds fab! :) Reminded me too that Im not going to do test tube shots, Ive found some fab candy cane shaped containers about the size of test tubes in 99p store. They're filled with sherbert but easily emptied out. :D

Ooh test tube shots, good idea. Shame we don't have a 99p store near!

Forgot to ask - as part of the "sweet dreams" pack - a suggestion is to write down your worries/what you new to do tomorrow list so you can sleep knowing you won't forget them. I was thinking a journal would be ideal for this (like a secret diary but suitable for adult it doesn't need to lock)... I can't find anything suitable - needs a day a page really and small enough to keep by bed? Stumped :( happy to decorate in photos etc

what about a lined note book similar to an exercise book that they have in schools

Hey guys, not sure if this has been mentioned but this morning u can get GHD Mark IV straightners for £49.99 which I just cant believe. Not sure if anyone has been looking out for a cheap pair. I have ordered one pair, only one pair per person. They have sold over 1600 and its only 9:30. All iPads have gone.

Hope the link works, hope this can help someone out, will make you budget go alot further if these were included in your christmas list!

I am going to go and catch up on the thread and then update you guys with my weekend purchases.

  • DS2 is on his way to take out my kitchen sink, put new one in and hot pink paint my kitchen. Lucky for me he has a week off work, even more lucky is he is broke and even luckier his GF birthday is Saturday and he needs to get her a pressie. So he knows if he slacks off working on the kitchen I won't pay him *inserts evil laugh* and he will have a grumpy GF. Naughty I know but needs must!

    I've been Money Tipped!
caitlyn22 - thanks for sharing your cherished Christmas memories. I completely agree that the effort put into creating the spirit and magic of Christmas creates something special which lives on way into adulthood and it's heartwarming to hear of family traditions which are kept alive through generations. Of course I loved the presents I received as a child but the things I remember most fondly are all the extra details and little things my Mum did which built up the sense of occasion and excitement to create that bit of sparkle and magic. Sadly she's no longer around but her love of Christmas most definitely is! :)

OMO - thanks for posting pics of your latest makes. I especially love the 'crafty' fonts on the labelling - a fab finishing touch and very professional looking.

About the Coke ad - I was also disappointed as I was expecting something bigger/better/different to last year. Much preferred the John Lewis and Debenhams ads (JL ad was expecially gorgeous). Was lovely to see so many Christmassy ads last night - seems like things are really stepping up a gear! (yikes...I'm so not ready yet!)

Can't remember who mentioned Homebase but I agree that they have some lovely things this year. I don't *need* any more decs but couldn't resist buying some of the beautiful, glass, open-fronted baubles with scenes/objects inside (including a lovely snowman scene with foxes, cute gingerbread house on a cake stand, a big cupcake and old-fashioned scenes with children and a snowman (one with a boy making a snow angel!) - £2.49 each or 3 for £6 but there's 15% off everything this weekend, so even cheaper! I wouldn't pay that for a 'standard' bauble but these ones are big and look a lot more expensive than they are. I'll gift box the one with the fox scene for a friend who absolutely loves foxes - she'll think it cost a fortune!

Popped in the Card Factory yesterday and they were putting a few new bits out - teddy bears wearing hooded tops with reindeer antlers on them (£1.99) and Christmassy tissue paper. Sorry if already mentioned but it's 99p for packs of 10 patterned sheets - a few different designs - lovely red & white Nordic/Scandi, white with silver snowflakes & one pack has sweet teddy bears on it (I think they call it their 'Hugs' range).
