  • Morning all,
Feeling so Christmassy only have one more day at work then off ready to go centre parcs winter wonderland next week I can't wait so so excited that's when christmas properly starts for me, we go every year.

Got lots of new baubles this weekend to update my tree, it has been white and silver for the last 8 years so the white is going and I'm getting more gold & pewter to go with the silver.

Also got most of the bits for my wrapping, I'm doing brown paper with silver ribbons just need to find some nice tags to match. Found some bargain wrapping paper for kids presents, £1 for 6 meters from hallmark so got 2 and tags to match.

Just been working out I need 14 christmas cards for family!!!
  • isnt it awesome?? am so glad you loved it! its my absolute favourite, Im on a mission to make sure anyone who hasnt seen it watches it! :D x

I pop on & off here when I get chance but since I posted last time theres so many pages to get through! I mentioned about never seeing the Polar Express - & I still haven't seen it! Just missed it when it was on TV at the weekend! You sound like you love it so I NEED to see it :D

I have an app on my phone called 'Days Until Xmas' which gives me a count down to Christmas & plays Christmas music to me whenever I open the app :D So Christmasy!

Thanks.problem is ive bought it now.its for my 3 year old,she loves anything to do with drawing.

    EDIT
Just had a read through some reviews and there all mixed, lots saying its fab others saying the nibs broke off the pens or its fiddly to set up.TBH what toys these days dont have mixed reviews really.we shall see on christmas day how we get on,least it didnt cost me £18 if its no good
Even if the nibs break off they may replace them if you email them as my sister did when my niece bought one at a fete without pens and they sent her new ones. :)

Went shopping yesterday, quite pleased with what I got for my money. :j Had £25 and after using a few clubcard vouchers (one doubled up for frozen food) and a £3 off £20 coupon I managed to get £21 Tesco shop (including 2 packs of moshi monsters 61p each reduced from halloween) £5 petrol, £3.85 in B&M, £2 parking and £6 in Poundland. :j I bought:
3 Baileys and bear sets (yay) 99p each B&M

    Poundland:
Coca cola trays x 2 (one for sister christmas, going to put it with some coca cola and tie with red ribbon)
    The luggage tag labels
Vampire teeth silicone mould (going to make choc fangs for sisters Twilight hamper)
And the bestest thing...Christmas pudding and Santa bin bags! :j:j:j :xmastree: They were with the normal bin bags! Have wanted these for ages but far too expensive online!
Even more happy as I can go christmas shopping today too as Im helping my mum with her christmas shopping. :D

  • im in a xmassy mood today, shops are playing xmas music, people are talking about it, (bad habit of listening into peoples convos lol) I got all the stuff to make my xmas cake tomorrow! just about to put the fruit into soak.

Got some bargain white, gold and silver fur wool in 99p shop.. 3 balls with a set of dp needles so brilliant bargain! got a toilet seat cover too, glad i waited now, and some bits to make my elf wreath.. decided to buy the actual ring instead of knitting that bit.

I forgot to get some gas though! so after the repair man has been tomorrow to repair the doors i shall pop up and get that and go into poundland see if i can find the rubbish bags! I was looking in the xmas aisle last i was in there so will check with the other ones. ty :D

morning all - lovely to come on here in my tea break to read everyones news really gets me in the mood for christmas and now everyone at work thinks Im mad haha!

Ive to make a few chocolate slabs tonight for my friend to give to work colleagues tomorrow (shes moving on to a better job) so must get these right!

Cant decide between a hamper I saw on ebay (works out £7.50 with postage) which has a lid to close and is a light coloured seagrass OR the hampers they have in HB with red lining. The HB one works out cheaper but I want something that looks good too. Ive to get 3 big ones, a medium and small. Anyone got any thoughts?

Im going to sort out all the presents Ive got so far tonight (even if it means sticking it all out on the spare bed lol) and work out what else I need to get.

I cant wait to get the tree up now :D
Life is what you make it.
  • Great minds think alike...lol

Are you using mainly brown 'Kraft' paper for wrapping too? Will probably use that for grown ups pressies but have Santa paper for the youngest. Still need to get cellophane for my hampers but will probably try and get a trip to hobby craft for that one night as ours is open late.

im not sure yet? but thats a good idea.

i have lots of kids presentsto wrap, but wanted to use something traditional, but something that the kids would still like...i havent looked yet.

i also need to buy some cellophane, ds is making his teachers baubles out of polystarene balls, covering them in glitter & writing their names on for xmas prezies. wondering wheres best to get a roll from?
    **Waiting for a BIG win!**

  • Success on the interview / work clash problem.

The school has allowed me to rearrange my lesson observation, so now it doesn't clash with work. On the downside, it is 9am tomorrow morning lol! Best start thinking of some ideas. Time's a ticking! :o

I just watched 'A Christmas cottage' on Christmas 24, it was a lovely heartwarming film. I should of been doing housework though. I just can't be bothered today.
I have so much to do as usual, and don't know where to start. The house needs more storage.

I bought a really lovely painted bauble off Etsy for a friend, but am disappointed in the packaging as it really cheapens it. Does anyone know where I could find a 'bauble sized' box of some sort?
