finally plucked up the will to log on and catch up! Been understandably very down this weekend :-( thankyou all so much for your kind and supportive messages, CHIRPYCHICK your words really gave me hope, I wish you all the sucess too when the time comes, and I wish you a speedy recovery. We have decided I am going to take the oppertunity to go back into childcare (i was a nursery nurse for 12 yrs but went into retail after dd was born for 'a change') so I am going to bide my time & get a teaching assistant possition, something I have wanted to do for years, but until our hand was forced, we never wanted to take the drop in wages! I know we will be ok, and i am sure it will make us happier when i am doing something i enjoy! Im now looking forward to a few weeks at home, getting the house ship-shape, and doing some crafty xmas bits, plus at least now i can make all the kids school xmas fairs, plays etc, so dd's are both very happy about the situation.
OWNMYOWN - your crafty bits are fantastic! how do you find the time? Trying hard to get my xmas spirit back, so going to look back over some old posts for free/very cheap craft ideas :rudolf:It's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.0 -
Own_My_Own wrote: »:j:j Update. Just had a peek at coasters, and it seems to have worked.:j:j
These ones were made by gluing wallpaper onto the tile using pva glue.
After 1 hour I coated them in pva glue. I did this again an hour later. I think they need another coat, but at least they haven't gone a funny colour like the others.
I just need to cut any excess paper off. (Turn tile over and go round the edge with a stanley /craft knife). Give the top and sides another coat and glue on the cork tile bottom.
That design is so good, they look really professional! As I have bought most of my pressies I succumbed to a wooden advent calendar and ordered this. Think it will look cute in our hall
That is sooo cute, where did he come from?!Hobnobs are like marines0 -

I found some of the mini whisks in Wilkos today for 50p each. Great for some mini "we whisk you" gifts or for the snowman soups :j
Couldn't find the 89p compartment box though previously mentioned for the retro sweets boxes - when I asked I was told that they hadn't sold them in a long while :cool:Smiles are as perfect a gift as hugs...
