Welcome home moneysavingmumofone I've missed you:) Hope your holiday was stress free and your batteries are recharged ready for the festivities
Brilliant ideas for my orange hamper. Picked up orange cooking utensils yesterday cos she loves to bake (I've promised to put our aprons in the suitcase so we can bake together again) x
Chirpy I've just read the article you linked too, certainly worth thinking about.I had a lovely holiday, we were in a caravan in the middle of a field next to a farm! Freezing cold but beautiful and so calm and quiet. What I wouldnt give to be there permanently! (except in a nice warm cottage lol) I hope you have a lovely time baking with your GD, so exciting for you that you have the exciting countdown to christmas then the magic isnt over as you can countdown to when you get to see them again.
So excited for you.
We always go for christmas light drives, no-one really decorates much round here and it isnt a very pleasant walk round the housingestate surrounded by factories tbh so we go for drives lol.
Also love to drive through Windsor past the castle! Im going to go through my cupboards and lists after dinner to see what I can cut down on. Will stretch to it all somehow.
Was just reading on the tesco clubcard exchange thread that Skylanders are included in the toys and bikes category! I have a dilemma now as DS really wants Skylanders but we planned to get him a bike. (already bought the festive wrapping for it lol) It would actually be cheaper to get Skylanders as there'd be less to pay after the vouchers (£20 or £30 for bike depending on whether its still reduced when we get it or £9.71 for Skylanders!! Plus I have a £2 off wys £20 voucher) and also tbh a bike wouldnt get much use over winter as we dont have a garden and the roads here are very busy and not suitable for riding around. (best in Summer when we go to lots of parks/woodlands. We still go to Woodlands in winter for strolls but not as much) Hmmm what to do?? Think Ive just talked myself into Skylanders! :rotfl:'They only had one cow!'0 -
Kinky Linky you still crafting? Can't wait to see today's master class

thank you moneysavingmumofone and nanamia (again!) sometimes it feels awful when people are so horrible and dishonest and it helps so much that people understand, I need to remember the majority of people are absolutely lovely!

I'm also wanting any ideas for how I could present a large quantity of malteasers for my OH. Something fun.. :snow_laug
Many Thanks
Get a cheap large rubber ball, cover it in paper mache. Cut it in half, fill with maltesers, glue back together. You can add some more paper mache to hide the join. Spray it brown.
You now have one very large malteser.twistedcandyfloss wrote: »Hello,
I've been following the thread for a few weeks and its given me some great ideas, so thank you.
On my own - I love the coasters you've made, can I ask what technique you used as I know someone who would love these.
Am still experimenting with them. Most of the instructions i have found have been american, and use stuff we don't have over here.
I am on batch 4 now, and just using pva glue. If it works I'll let you know.
I don't know why the ones in the pic turned out ok. Every other set went funny looking.chirpychick wrote: »I've just seen this too which might be of interest

This got me thinking.
If nearly £100 is the average, and we spend under a third of that, somewhere there is a family that spend over £166 on Christmas Dinner.:eek:0 -
Had a day in today not feeling the best but decided to get up and do some baking as I promised the girls in work a "taste testing" to get their thoughts on whats worked well for the hampers this year. So far made 2 different chocolate slabs although couldnt find a rectangular tray so mine are large circular ones and I quite like them that way its different! I also made a few hot chocolate spoons and some homemade fudge - cant wait to get peoples reaction now. Got loads of shopping done yesterday thats granny and sisters presents done completely now (including sisters birthday present too which is 20th Dec) Went to home bargains for the kids storage boxes but they didnt have any for their age group, the designs seemed a bit too old for them so back to the drawing board! No snow here today but certainly got very cold!Life is what you make it.0

Skylanders is a video game with figures, my niece and her friend have them and they're always on tv so DS is hooked already and he doesnt even have them yet lol! That saves me a few pennies too and I know he'll be chuffed! :j
