OMO, could you please send/put on your 'method' for money trees? They are great and my teenage nephews ask for money now :( Not festove but in the shape of a tree would make me happier!:rudolf:

Sorry you multi -quote went awol.

I put my slabs in bags, but I would fold the cellophane and tape it at the back.

    Re the Tree Cards -

    http://www.homemade-gifts-made-easy.com/money-origami-christmas-tree.html

    Fold the tree like above.

Stick a piece of card in the shape of a bucket at the bottom of the card. (Only stick 3 sides ,leaving the top bit open.)
Slide the tree into the the top of the bucket. Use a bit of blue tac on the back of the tree, half way up, to keep it in place.
Stick a star on top of the tree,(but on the card), with a point going over the tree to keep that bit in place.

If that doesn't make any sense, let me know, and I'll take pictures while making one.

Haven't actually made anything today, except another batch of tiles. Which I hope will work better than the other lots.
It took so long to copy and paste the poems and tags, then print them all off. And I had a bit of a nightmare shopping this morning. Nothing major, just the Range didn't have a hole punch, so I had to go into town, which took another 30 mins, after spending 30 mins in there looking for them.

But all the poems and tags have now been printed onto nice card.
We also made a facebook page. It has nothing on it, but we are ready.

By that time it was getting dark, and I wanted to take my pictures in daylight.
I am not at work Weds, so will get some things done then.
The slabs can be made after work in the week. I would love to make them all together, but there is never enough room in the fridge.

It has been one of those days really. When you run round all day but feel you have achieved very little.:(

Then came to find the things I wanted from the gift guide are not on the website grr!! Annoyed now as it means I now have to go into Warrington to see if they have them instore which I highly dout!! Did put a tin of Heros && celebrations on shopping though!!

Are they on Asda Direct? You can't get them with your grocery shopping but you could order for delivery to store.

    Three gifts left to buy
  • Just started my christmas 'inventory' and realised my niece really has enough and I dont know why I was worrying about her 'main' present. I think its because everything seemed so small but she has loads really!
    Large hello kitty teddy
    Small moshi monsters teddy
Baking hamper (few bits to get still)
    Adopt a reindeer set
Choc slab (to make nearer the time)

Sorry you may get regular inventory updates throughout the night lol. :rotfl:

:j:j Update. Just had a peek at coasters, and it seems to have worked.:j:j

These ones were made by gluing wallpaper onto the tile using pva glue.
After 1 hour I coated them in pva glue. I did this again an hour later. I think they need another coat, but at least they haven't gone a funny colour like the others.

I just need to cut any excess paper off. (Turn tile over and go round the edge with a stanley /craft knife). Give the top and sides another coat and glue on the cork tile bottom.

twistedcandyfloss I think this is the best way to do it. The other way using spray varnish was quicker, but a bit hit and miss.

I also just made up a couple of 'Use your Loaf' gifts, to see how they would look. The bag of sun dried tomato bread mix is in the santa bag.
Managed to get the jar of sun dried tomatoes for 89p in town. I must go back in tomorrow:eek: and get some more, as they are around double that in the supermarkets.

Am now going to sit here quietly and make some sliders.:D

EDIT-Can anyone tell me how to make my pictures smaller. They are a bit in your face aren't they.:)
  • As I have bought most of my pressies I succumbed to a wooden advent calendar and ordered this. Think it will look cute in our hall

I wouldn't say it was cheating, but I wouldn't do it.

When adding up any of my gifts, I always add up what it should have cost me .Not what it actually did.

Also, if you make the sack, it may give you away as the buyer of the other gifts. Not very Secret Santa.

Unfortunately I agree, I was going to put my Secret Santa gifts in a stocking this year but it would completely give me away so I've given up on that idea :(

Thank you, I shall have to pop to the tile shop and find a nice pattern for the coaster. I hope they turn out as well as yours!
  • Aw thanks Nanamia, missed you all too. :) I had a lovely holiday, we were in a caravan in the middle of a field next to a farm! Freezing cold but beautiful and so calm and quiet. What I wouldnt give to be there permanently! (except in a nice warm cottage lol) I hope you have a lovely time baking with your GD, so exciting for you that you have the exciting countdown to christmas then the magic isnt over as you can countdown to when you get to see them again. :) So excited for you. :) We always go for christmas light drives, no-one really decorates much round here and it isnt a very pleasant walk round the housingestate surrounded by factories tbh so we go for drives lol. :) Also love to drive through Windsor past the castle! Im going to go through my cupboards and lists after dinner to see what I can cut down on. Will stretch to it all somehow. :)

Was just reading on the tesco clubcard exchange thread that Skylanders are included in the toys and bikes category! I have a dilemma now as DS really wants Skylanders but we planned to get him a bike. (already bought the festive wrapping for it lol) It would actually be cheaper to get Skylanders as there'd be less to pay after the vouchers (£20 or £30 for bike depending on whether its still reduced when we get it or £9.71 for Skylanders!! Plus I have a £2 off wys £20 voucher) and also tbh a bike wouldnt get much use over winter as we dont have a garden and the roads here are very busy and not suitable for riding around. (best in Summer when we go to lots of parks/woodlands. We still go to Woodlands in winter for strolls but not as much) Hmmm what to do?? Think Ive just talked myself into Skylanders! :rotfl:

wish i read the tesco bit properly, i exchanged my clubcard vouchers and got pjs and dressing gowns - could have used it for skylander giants!!!

any other skylander fans - i did pick up a skylander giants tshirt for ds for £6 i think - total bargain considreing his lunchbox cost me £10 on amazon - faddy kids toys are soooooo expensive
