Picked up a couple of bits today...

Home Bargains: little rectangular tins in christmas designs (39p) - quite small but big enough for some homemade fudge etc. Also had matching bauble tins with hanging ribbon (29p) which twist open to put small gifts inside. Bargains!

Poundland - bought some lovely white snowflake window stickers (the re-usable kind) - 18 per pack. Not normally a fan of window stickers but these ones reminded me of lacy crocheted snowflakes which I love. Also bought a light-up USB christmas tree ornament to bring a bit of festive cheer to my desk at work (think it might be colour-changing but can't remember and I've put it away now) and also a couple of these cute felt elf hats

For those wrapping choc slabs in cellophane off the roll (rather than bags), Card Factory do little round 'envelope seal' stickers - 29p for a pack of 24 which may be useful for sticking down folded ends? I bought some cute ones with christmas puds, robins, bauble and tree designs, kind of 50s retro style, but they also have plain silver, plain gold and others. Got mine to seal the little messages I'm putting in the advent calendar I'm making for work, so there's no peeking! :)
  • i was then meant to name dd, i loved isobelle, but hubby thought she would be teased, so we called her emily as it was all we could agree on
This is quoted from WAY back, sorry! But I just can't think of any reason Isobelle could cause teasing!? Why did he think it would?

Emily is a fantastic name also, of course. :)

Wow, everyone is very busy - only 50 days to go! :T Funny, if I post that on Facebook I get moaned at, but on here everyone is happy about it :D

I found this pic when I was googling snowman poop labels - does anyone know where I can get these plastic test tubes? I have been looking on amazon/ebay/google but can't seem to find the right ones :o

Also - to anyone making chocolate slabs...how do you get round the problem of the chocolate separating/clouding when it sets?

They do come up on Ebay, but they are over 50p each. The last lot I looked at were only being sold in packs of 60 for £12 + pp.

I am using the little glass jars out of Ikea or Asda. They are only 50p each, and look nicer than the tubes.

Sorry you multi -quote went awol.

I put my slabs in bags, but I would fold the cellophane and tape it at the back.

    Re the Tree Cards -

    http://www.homemade-gifts-made-easy.com/money-origami-christmas-tree.html

    Fold the tree like above.

Stick a piece of card in the shape of a bucket at the bottom of the card. (Only stick 3 sides ,leaving the top bit open.)
Slide the tree into the the top of the bucket. Use a bit of blue tac on the back of the tree, half way up, to keep it in place.
Stick a star on top of the tree,(but on the card), with a point going over the tree to keep that bit in place.

If that doesn't make any sense, let me know, and I'll take pictures while making one.

Makes perfect sense. I used to do origami many years ago. Even if the boys don't appreciate it, I'm sure their mum will. Not a lot impresses teenage boys ;)

If you mean about 'you know who' still being there, then no! (Sorry if that spoils it for anyone who hasn't seen it yet!!!) I'd really like Ella to win so I'm glad that she's still there. I think she's a class act and in a league of her own, waaaaay better than the others :)

Morning. Does anyone know where I can find pink or red striped paper bags? It's for posting my homemade Christmas decorations. I tried wrapping them in tissue paper but they looked messy. I thought a nice paper bag with a nice sticker to seal it would look better than just wrapped in bubble wrap. I just can't find what I'm looking for x

Moneysavngmumofone- thank you for asking about my Grampas funeral. It went as well as funerals go. The service was nice but hard. I cried the whole way through. But afterwards was nice to see old friends and s e family I hadnt seen in years x

Not sure if anyone remembers, but I posted a link a few weeks ago from Zulilly. it was for a lovely wooden cake stand and crumpet set for my DD's play kitchen. It all arrived 2 weeks ago, so only took just over a week to arrive.
I know some of their reviews weren't great for postage, but that's 3 times I've ordered from them and the stuff arrived within their predicted delivery time. And it was all lovely quality.
The cake stand is very cute with its little battenburg cake and crumpets! I can't wait to play with it lol
