Just wanted to say thankyou to everyone. I'm now on my way to creating a Christmas eve hamper for my 2 kiddies. So far, I have got:
* Christmas characters fro the ard factory
* Christams eve PJs from Primark
* Gingerbread house and cookie christmas tree kits from B&M
* a Christmas blanket from Primark
* a couple of Christmas stories to read before bedtime
Also plan on getting xmas DVD (anyone know the name of the new one that's due out?), popcorn/sweets, slippers and a Santa stop sign. Anything else????
I want to put it all in a nice Christmas box but can't find a christams themed one. The plan is to get a good quality one and then reuse it next year and so on.
Also, I'm thinking of making chocolate slabs for teachers/family. I'd like a Christmas shaped mould but struggling to find one below £5. Is that normal? If anyone can suggest somewhere...
To 'send' them in, I'm looking at cellophane. Do I need a roll or bags??? Best places to get them from????
Sorry for so many questions. I have ALWAYS loved Christmas and this year you have all got me really giddy with it. Thankyou :T
Authur Christmas is released in a couple of weeks. you can pre-order from amazon for £10 and they price match if it drops lower! we went to see it at cinema last xmas, very funny, kids loved it! :rudolf:It's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.0 -
So, another very long day at work ahead, with who is really is shaping up to be the manager from hell (mwahahahaaaa!). Were not allowed to mention christmas, to be fair she doesnt even like us talking full stop! And shes ban any drinks downstairs, which means i have to wait till my lunch break for a cuppa...gutted as i really dont function all that well without an hourly cup of tea! Oh and to top it off, she wouldnt let me book any leui time this week or next (even though im owed almost 10hrs!) so no more walking around shops browsing for me until two weeks yesterday :-( How will i cope?
Rant over, quick look on jobsite now me thinks... cant have work interfering with my xmas spirit!!!It's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.0 -
Sounds like everyone's Christmas prep is coming along nicely. The excitement is definitely building!
Picked up a few bits yesterday. Got a decent sized panettone (900g) in Wilkos for £3, Mario candy canes and Baileys miniatures with teddies in B&M, clip on toadstool decs in Tesco (£1.44 for 3pk) and the musical tin in M&S.....which I LOVE! I can see why everyone is snapping them up.
Also bought some giant sparklers in Tesco which I'll save for New Year. Is it normal that they won't sell them to you if you're not leaving the store straight away, in case you spark them up as you're wandering round the aisles? Didn't know if it was standard policy or if the cashier just decided I looked particularly dodgy!!!
Thanks to everyone who posts - I'm loving all the tips
PS Hugs to those who need them
PPS Love the name Levan! Stick to your guns if that's the name you've set your heart on x0 -

Have been reading this thread for months but not posted before.
Have Sooo much Christmas spirit, I have my Christmas countdown up from 99 sleeps to go!!! Happy it's now on 53no long at all!!!
It's a bit difficult to be excited as this year is going to be extremely tight with money, usually u can't see the floor for presents but there will b a very small amount this time. I know kids will still b happy, and I'm just looking forward to lunchlol
Mainly wanted to write to say I think the name Levan is absolutely gorgeous. I have worked through many schools and don't think he will have a problem with his name at all, I really like it.
AutumnGirl, yes it's a rule you have to leave Tesco straight away with fireworks, my OH works there (unfortunately) One person told them he was leaving then walked into the shop, he got thrown out by security. It is a safety thing, can't have them open in a public area.
I'm excited today as I live in Bournemouth and we have no b&m anywhere near us and I have only been to one once on holiday in Wales but I am off to Swindon to see OH's family and they have b&m there and I have been told we are ALLOWED to goyay!!!
Christmas Crazy :rotfl:
Love de-cluttering, to the point I don't really own much anymore. :rotfl:
2014 IS going to be a good year :j0 -
Going to sort my lists and hopefully tie up some lose ends today. Most is bought and wrapped although DS main pressie is on order to be delivered at the end of this month.
My dilemma now is I'm looking at bits online that are reduced and my brain is ticking over that it would be lovely for "next year". Is anyone else thinking ahead like that already?0 -
I'm about halfway done on next year Pinksteps :eek:Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76

pinknfluffy28 wrote: »Evening everyone. The girls at work had been asking about my hampers for a while, so i finally remebered to take them some pics in today. They were so impressed that 3 of them have asked me to make hampers for them. One wants a spongebob one for her 8yr ds, one wants an xmas eve one for 7yo twins, and another wants a curry night hamper for her oh. I wasnt expecting this and was a little stumped when they asked how much. So I have said £25 each. I plan to spend £20 on actual hampers & contents, and then after tissue paper, cellophane & ribbon I hope to make about £3 per hamper. This is something I really enjoy doing, so im not looking to make a huge profit. But I want to pack them as much in as I can for my money, pjs from primark, poundland stuff etc. So if anyone see's any SPONGEBOB bargains, please please let me know. I have told them they will be ready by first week in December, I cant believe I am going to be paid (however little) for doing the thing I enjoy most in the world...shopping for bargains!! Time to catch up on all your posts now...I'll be back! :rudolf:
I bought various rulers to put in the kids stockings, and have spare Spongebob ones which you can have if you likeA smile costs little but creates much0 -
Help needed please. Am on the hunt for cheap Maltesers ,both milk and white.
I am going to need quite a few bags/boxes, so the cheaper the better.
They're for my own take of 'pint of socks'
Thanks.
Am a bit fed-up today. Saw some jars in Ikea on Wed and could not think what I needed them for, so left them. And I have remembered what I wanted to do with them. Although It was lovely going shopping with my friend, sometimes it is best to go alone. I didn't want to keep her waiting in Ikea, when she had done, so we left. If I had been alone I would most probably had gone back to the jars and had another think.
Oh well, I will just have to go back up again. But at 65 mile away, it isn't a quick or cheap trip .:eek:0
