B&M had some Christmas tree silicone moulds in a couple of weeks ago (think they were with the Christmas stuff rather than the cook stuff). Think it was a rectangle shape with 6 Christmas trees. They were largish but IIRC they'd be ok on a loaf tin sized choc slab. Means you could make more than one at once. Can't remember price but only couple pound I think.0 -
pinknfluffy28 wrote: »Evening everyone. The girls at work had been asking about my hampers for a while, so i finally remebered to take them some pics in today. They were so impressed that 3 of them have asked me to make hampers for them. One wants a spongebob one for her 8yr ds, one wants an xmas eve one for 7yo twins, and another wants a curry night hamper for her oh. I wasnt expecting this and was a little stumped when they asked how much. So I have said £25 each. I plan to spend £20 on actual hampers & contents, and then after tissue paper, cellophane & ribbon I hope to make about £3 per hamper. This is something I really enjoy doing, so im not looking to make a huge profit. But I want to pack them as much in as I can for my money, pjs from primark, poundland stuff etc. So if anyone see's any SPONGEBOB bargains, please please let me know. I have told them they will be ready by first week in December, I cant believe I am going to be paid (however little) for doing the thing I enjoy most in the world...shopping for bargains!! Time to catch up on all your posts now...I'll be back! :rudolf:0

You would better off buying a silicone cake or loaf tin to make your slabs. That way you can make birthday presents aswell with it .
I got mine in the 99p store.0 -
Hi all, sorry if this has already been mentioned but i'm about 7 pages behind and haven't had a chance to catch up yet! Saw this Bob the Builder toy on offer from £14.99 to £4.99, there is £2.99 p&p but it still means it's roughly half price:

I thought it might be useful for someone with children.
Also, chirpychick, I remember you talked about getting a coffee machine, i'm not sure where you're at with that, you may have said on here but as I said i'm behind so thought i'd post this link in case it might be useful:

Hope the links work and everyone is well! Will try to catch up now.0 -
Quick Question RE chocolate slabs. How many milk choc bars from lidl should I use in a silicone loaf mould? And how many white for decoration? Thanks x got a mini pannetonne(sp?) for 99p from Lidl too, not had it before, and its just me and DH so didnt want to get a big one. Used a N3w L@@k voucher to get DH a Superman onesie

good luck with this and with the festive fivers. i love love love food and am seriously considering writing a food blog. Infact I am presently trying my hand at writing 10 articles to see if i can do it so we will see. But maybe you should try your hand at it too? You seem to like making amazing sounding stuff.0 -
pinknfluffy28 - Have a look in The Works for the Spongebob items - they had loads of stuff for about 99p!! Also you could pick up Curry books there too.
Also don't let your manager get you down, keep the Christmas spirit glowing inside
Everyone at my work is really miserable when it comes to talking about Christmas and refuse to acknowledge it, but I just smile and think well at least it wont have cost me a fortune come the special day, as planning ahead is far better!
Plus I love it thinking about it - the food, excitement, time with family, making things...Personally I think they're the mad ones for not loving it like we all do!0
