  • One more present to get and then I'm done-phew! I even managed to wrap some of them today. Thank you for all the ideas on here.

So, when do you all put you decorations up? I always go for 1st December or whichever weekend is closest to it. However hubby wants them to go up mid-November this year! Even that seems far too soon for me, but it looks like I've really got him into the Christmas spirit.

I am actually about to have a break down. A French music download site that I've never heard of or used has decided to take some money out of my bank account. How they have for hold of my back details is beyond me but they have.
I have contacted Halifax who were next to useless. Apparently it's not fraud because it hasn't reached the 100s of pounds. I said does that fact I didn't authorise it beard no relevance and they said no. I was passed onto disputes who said there was nothing they could do as they see it as fraud. Nobody is helping.
Log back on online and another 100£ has disappeared unaccounted for so I have just been and withdrawn my remaining money. No one is taking me seriously or helping, so not tomorrow instead of Xmas shopping I have got to go and get really angry in the bank.
Sooooooooo angry and cross its untrue.
    Sorry moan over.

    Hi everyone.
I am spending my day in front of the TV!
I have recorded loads of Christmassy films and I am currently watching "a holiday to remember" it's lovely!!!
Im going to go through the tv guide and set up some more to record over the following week.

I was wondering, those with kids - did you often change your mind during pregnancy about your childs name? We have really struggled and then we settled on one but everyone took the mickey out of it and we just decided that it would be unfair to name him something when even grown adults would mock the name so we changed our mind.
It has been something we have really struggled with and we think we have found a name now that we like but now im really paranoid that nobody will like it again - i know its our decision but i dont want to give anyone reason to bully him throughout life.

Don't forget the Tesco clubcard voucher exchange - I was debating "investing" in a Tassimo machine, I read that i could get £20 off if I spent £75 on Tesco direct and I have £8.50 of vouchers which would make it up to £13.50 if ive worked it out right. The Tassimo is £69 + I could get our little Christmas tree we need so that would take it down to £55 - £13.50 = £41.50 and apparently it comes with £20 worth of vouchers for coffee pods - If I really stretched then I could *just* about afford it, *just* - I don't really do coffee but hubby loves his coffee and I could send off for the coffee pods so its all ready to use. i thought what a wonderful surprise gift that would be. He took one of his birthday presents back to get our toaster and kettle so i really feel that i should spoil him but its a bit naughty - ok a lot naughty... what should i do lol

Hi Ive got a tesco till split for £15 off when you buy a Tassimo coffee machine if you would like it. I ve already got one. I could post it to you unless you live near Wrexham lol

Sorry to hear what a horrible thing to happen, same thing happend to an immediate family member a few years ago about a week or so before christmas, started off as small downloads on itunes and then went onto bigger downloads, the only reason this family member found out was because the downloads were automatically downloading and he could see it happening on the laptop in real time! Phoned bank and itunes who eventually stopped it and got money refunded but left no funds to pay mortgage or remaining xmas gifts!! Bank was very good and offered a free temporary overdraft to cover mortgage until refund was given. Hope you get sorted really I do!
Life is what you make it.
  • hello all

just having a quick catch up as barly have time at the moment as its haf term, so have all 3 children whist oh is at work!!!

would like to thank whoever mentioned hte chocolate slabs - am going to get my older two to do some of these and make gifts for their teachers, and lidl chocolate makes it soooo cheap - only need to get some little clear bags and ribbon to make them look nice. i even have some white chocolate letters(were brought for a cake and reduced to 10p so brought 5 packs ages ago) and am going to put their names on them!!!

also would like to thank whoever mentioned the mystery shopping - i looked into this and have been accepted and have my 1st assignment next week - am excited plus me and lexie get to go on little shopping trips, and as the reimburse money get more free things!!!

chirpy chick - in regards to baby names, i still am not too keen on my older two, ds(zack) was named by hubby as thats what he always wanted to call his son, i was then meant to name dd, i loved isobelle, but hubby thought she would be teased, so we called her emily as it was all we could agree on(and she really suits it now. lexie was our hardest, and we didnt know what she was either, whereas we did with the other 2. we picked lexie a long time ago, before eastenders had a baby lexie, and i was so worried everyone woiuld think it was chavvy, but now think that i shouldnt care, and hope there isnt too many more babies named lexie!1

i adore levan - i think it is such an unusual name, but then again i would never be rude enough to say to someone i dont like the name they picked for their child - it is totally up to you and dont let people sway you as you may regret it. Also have been told you can change your childs name in the first year if you want to.

am planning on going to town on 14th nov for next boots evening, and am so excited as i have seen a massive christmas shop being stocked in one of our shoppiong malls, will take pictures when it finally opens and post on here - it looks wonderful!!!!

p.s. am loving reading it christmas next month!!:j
