He doesn't like change in routine. He doesn't remember it. When we moved he went back to the old house for over a week.
He doesn't like lots of people together, as it takes him more time to register what people are saying to him, so a lot of voices rattles him.
He believes a lot of things he sees and hears. One year we had real trouble getting him to leave the house as he thought he would get bird flu and die.
If you tell him money burns a hole in your pocket, and he has some , he will pull his trousers down.
His senses are not the same as yours or mine. He feels, smells and tastes things differently to you or I.
But mainly he has no empathy. The world revolves around him. He just sees what he sees. He once saw someone walking his Dads dog. He told me quite calmly that his Dad was dead and someone had his dog. He couldn't think of any other reason to describe what he saw. But it didn't bother him that his dad was dead, (He was working away) as he isn't part of this normal day.
He can be funny at times. Although he doesn't realise it. He went on a day trip to the local barracks. When he finished the assault course he texted me
' Have finished, but it killed me' (He had heard someone say it.)
He then panicked and texted ' I am not really dead. That is a saying!' :rotfl:
Sometimes I feel that I live with a stranger, as I still have no idea how he really sees the world.
He will love that mug, as he thinks Bad Boys are gangsters. I can just see him now telling everyone ' Don't mess with me I'm a Bad Boy. I have a mug that says so !' :rotfl:
My bf has aspergers too but he also has ADHD along side it!! I know what you mean about living with a stranger as I've been with my bf for 5 years and sometimes I still don't understand how his mind works my bf won't go anywhere there is a lot of people and refuses to use public transport his taste && smell && touch are funny too!! The other day we were out && he said god that woman stinks to me but I couldnt smell anything but the woman heard && gave us the worse look ever I was mortified!! I don't think people know enough about it to understand it tbh!! Like my family still don't understand why my bf is the way he is && will call him lazy && stuff cause he won't walk around incase there are people about (its part of his illness)0 -
Hi :-)
I need some convincing.. My OH has seen a Ted Baker giftset in Boots, its got all the shaving stuff in, think its around £35.00.
I dont mind spending it on him, however ive always had to think twice about buying from Boots before Christmas because i know that it will be half price by Boxing Day!!
Am i being mean? Would you lot buy it? Or do you think i could do something similar myself?

dropsofjupiter wrote: »I'm currently working on the Christmas quiz I do for my team at work every year. For rounds so far I have got
0) Food and drink
1) Christmas alphabet (general knowledge based on the letters of Christmas)
2) Music (lyrics listed and they have to name the song)
3) Toys, games and other childhood memories (a bit random, questions around board games and tv etc)
4) ????
5) Film (pictures of actors and actresses so they can name the Christmas films they've been in)
6) Panto round - Oh no it isn't (questions about characters and plot lines in traditional panto's)
Last year round 4 was "Joe King" where I listed some one liner jokes and got people to give me the punchlines but I fancied trying something different this year. Unfortunately I can't think what!
Any suggestions gratefully received. :xmassmile
How about something like name all Santas reindeer, & all the things my true love gave to me in the 12 days of Christmas.0 -

Sorry hadn't read all thread, just caught up & realise that's already been suggested!
anyone looking for big boxes for hampers, sainsburys have these crates on offer. They're quite big but could be filled with Christmas paper on the inside & lots of shredded paper.

I says it's £3.50 on website but was £2.50 in store. Thought they'd be handy for people to use as storage afterwards.0 -
Forgot to tell you all! Bought a pack of 3 Christmas car air fresheners in Sainsbugs on Sunday, hoping they have Christmas smells, but have Santa, a reindeer and snowman, so will make my car Christmassy when I am driving to Ireland!
OMO - order your tax disc on line, don't need to have anything then other than the reference number which comes on the renewal. Best thing ever!!!!!!!!!A smile costs little but creates much0 -

You have suggested a different question to me. I said how many gifts (344) where as you have asked what they are.Gettingtherequickly wrote: »OMO - order your tax disc on line, don't need to have anything then other than the reference number which comes on the renewal. Best thing ever!!!!!!!!!

morning all!
thank you for explaining more about Aspergers, as you say people sometimes dont like to ask and if more people understood it it would be a lot easier for families to cope with I think, my friends son has it and I knew very little other than bits she mentioned to me, so thank you helping us understand a bit more.
Taking DD to dentist so taking a look in M&S and nipping to Card Factory to see if they have the reindeer0
