    Xmas Saver!

ha ha, I know people a bit tlike that, but they are the first to moan when the washing machine sock monster eats them! in my opinion you can never have too many socks....although it does get difficult when you end up having to fold/match all the socks lft in he bottom of the laundry basket (or 8 in my case) and you end up with 2 drawer fulls! or is this just me?:rotfl:

In his defence, there are 6 of us. On fathers day he got 5 mugs, 4 coasters, 3 pint glasses and numerous pairs of socks, all saying Dad or Granddad :rotfl:

EDIT- I know this as I was the last one there, and he counted them out for me.

I have trained my 2 very well. They both only wear odd socks now. So no more sorting for me :j:j

 I cannot believe that - some people have no subtlety do they?!

I was already overweight when I got pregnant and so have experienced all sorts of biased about my weight throughout. I have put on approx 1st in total now with 4 weeks and 5 days to go i really am hoping that is all baby - but I have a lot of work to do anyway regardless when he is born.
My hubby's brother and dad have both just been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes (just found out this afternoon) hubby is having an unrelated dr appointment on wednesday and will be asking to be tested too (him and his brother are very similar in size and only 2 years age gap) as they have all 3 had the same operation this year already for something else completely unrelated i feel like he is bound to get diabetes too, so i have told him that the healthy lifestyle starts tomorrow, not just for his sake and possibly having diabetes or an increased risk but for our little boys sake too. We don't want to lead him into our unhealthy lifestyle. We said if we work on it now, by the time the baby is 1 we could be a few stone lighter, healthier, fitter and he wont have fat parents! So im on a mission. (obviously I wont diet until the baby is born!)

Im wondering if to make the BIL a diabetes hamper with some books or something? I've yet to get his birthday present (22nd Dec) any suggestions?

Im a rare one as I lose weight all the way through pregnancy, have done both times, and end up being about a stone lighter than when I started. Sadly I tend to put it all back on in the first few horrific weeks as I grab junk when I can rather than eat properly.

Managed to get OHs present finished yesterday as Buyagift had a 20% off code. So now he has 12 treats, one for each month. Some are big things like a day out some are smaller and simpler like a book voucher so he can choose something and then have time to read it.

THANK YOU!!:j just ordered it for my dd and ds for their xmas eve elf hamper, they are going to think its so funny.
Also had a bit if a result in ordering the innotab for my ds (4) second hand on ebay they range from £40-£50 managed to get a new one from the House of Fraser website for £54.99 with free delivery, I was also ordering a couple of bits for the kitchen anyway as they were in the sale, and they have an offer on at the mo that if you spend over £100 you get 2000 point which works out to be £20 of vouchers for HOF, hopefully they will arrive in oct/nov so this means I get a free game with his innotab, which is fab!
DD (6) really wants an ipod touch, I know its a bit over the top, but you can pick them up really reasonably second hand, I know she will use it, plus think I will sell her DSi to pay for part of, I remember when I was 6 all i wanted was a Mr Frosty ice cream make!! how things have changed! :)
thank you just had a look and it's gone down to 19.00 some think

Hi all, not had time to read everything on the last pages but have skimmed. Well done to everyone that has finished their christmas shopping.
I received my savings cards today so can start my proper pressie shopping :T
Was looking at Play.com and saw this http://www.play.com/DVD/DVD/4-/1098606/The-Happy-Elf/Product.html thought it might be nice for those doing Elf activities or christmas eve hampers.
My daughter is coming home for christmas so I am looking forward to christmas loads.:xmassmile
Have seen those pudding bags somewhere cheaper too but cant for the life of me remember where, will post if I remember xx
recent wins-3 x anchor, a bag of skittles, 50 spud shillings, A tassimo mug :T
  • typed "christmas presents" into youtube, hoping for some tips on wrapping etc, and i stumbled across videos of kids opening presents on christmas morning! just spent the last hour watching them, a couple brought a real lump to my throat with their happy & grateful faces & responses. its made me feel even more excited for the big day.. although im still non the wiser on pretty wrapping techniques lol :rudolf:
It's not about getting what you want, It's about wanting what you get.
  • I'm watching the polar express for the first time, im only half way through but absolutley loving it. Can't believe I've never watched it before. Thanks for all the reviews :rudolf:
  • I've had the most lovely day today...nothing really exciting just a very pleasant day:)

It's now been 9 days since I quit smoking:T Very proud of myself.
The only bad part of my day is that I discovered that I am already 3 stone overweight:eek: (I can't even blame it on quitting the cigs!) so have decided to eat more healthily and cut down on snacks and portion sizes It is NOT a diet 'cos the moment it becomes a diet I will fail miserably. I have promised myself that I will walk the legs off the dog every day to get fitter and if I don't get fit the dog certainly will. :rotfl:

    My good notes were.....
    • getting my hair cut and coloured for the first time in ages...(sure I lost a least a couple of ounces there)
    • buying the little Rudolph from Card Factory as posted several pages ago
    • buying a 'shoe box' with a beautiful design from Store 21 for £4.99 and discovering when I got to the till that it was reduced to £2.50
    • finding Asda have filled up the Christmas aisle!!
    • watching DGS walking his first 3 steps:T
    • babysitting DGS while his mum and dad went out for a well deserved evening....he fell asleep in my arms while we watched Miracle on 34th Street dvd. My idea of heaven:o

  • I'm currently working on the Christmas quiz I do for my team at work every year. For rounds so far I have got
    0) Food and drink
    1) Christmas alphabet (general knowledge based on the letters of Christmas)
    2) Music (lyrics listed and they have to name the song)
    3) Toys, games and other childhood memories (a bit random, questions around board games and tv etc)
    4) ????
    5) Film (pictures of actors and actresses so they can name the Christmas films they've been in)
    6) Panto round - Oh no it isn't (questions about characters and plot lines in traditional panto's)

Last year round 4 was "Joe King" where I listed some one liner jokes and got people to give me the punchlines but I fancied trying something different this year. Unfortunately I can't think what!

    Any suggestions gratefully received. :xmassmile
