Hello all!
Good thing it's a quiet day at work, looks like I've got PAGES and PAGES to catch up on!
Had a fab weekend away in London. Bought a few pressies - a vet set with carry case, plush dog and lots of bits to care for the doggie £11 in Hamleys, half price, for my youngest neice, Scooby doo guess who for youngest nephew, team GB rucksack for SIL and cufflinks for DH.
Also visited the Christmas shop in Selfridges and played guess the price :rotfl: Very festive but very expensive too
I hope you are all well, going to try and catch up with you all though I've been MIA since Thursday:D0 -

I need some convincing.. My OH has seen a Ted Baker giftset in Boots, its got all the shaving stuff in, think its around £35.00.
I dont mind spending it on him, however ive always had to think twice about buying from Boots before Christmas because i know that it will be half price by Boxing Day!!
Am i being mean? Would you lot buy it? Or do you think i could do something similar myself?

Thats it! I presume its £35.00 because its Ted Baker!!

is this a similar but cheaper one:
http://www.boots.com/en/Teds-Grooming-Room-Razor-Quest_1273755/
has the shaving brush and cup, just doesnt have the Face Wash
Face Srub, Post Shave Balm that the one in your link seems to have,
is there anything you would be buying in the 3 for 2 so it would
feel a bit cheaper?
i got 2 of these ones for my OH http://www.boots.com/en/Gillette-ProGlide-Grooming-Gift-Set_1270496/
along with another £20 gift for my mam, felt a bit better thinking of one for "free" plus its something he would use anyways,0 -

To make an actual card, you can make one as normal , then inside glue a piece of card on three side, to make a pocket for the tea.
Ooh, you've got me thinking...I could make snowman soup to send in cards to people. I occasionally send the "have a brew with me at half past 3" to friends to cheer them up...snowman soup...hmmm....:D
OMO love the idea of the bah humbug advent calendar. I guess the idea could be adapted for any kind of wrapped sweet really. Maybe you should consider making those for your craft stall too
Still got LOADS of pages to read yet :eek:0 -
Anyone go for that radio times offer last week? I just received an email saying :
Thank you for placing your order for a Radio Times Subscription. !Unfortunately, the offer code that you have used RTE1012B – with the offer - 12 issues for £1 is reserved exclusively for recipients of a personally addressed email acquisition campaign from Radio Times
me too pinksteps..... didn't even enter a code that what makes me  well I'll be boycotting them from now on (and it appears MSE have pulled the thread)loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
Hiya Clayton I've not been in Abakan in years:( when I was skim reading earlier on my phone I didn't realise it was you going - so obviously the Manchester branch and not the one on the way to Wales! Did you notice if they had much ribbon? Meant selection of ribbons?
I think this was meant at meThey did have ribbon, and plenty of it, but not an awful lot of festive stuff. If you live anywhere near Ashton - there is a haberdashery shop in the indoor market which has quite a bit of christmas ribbon (felt like more than in Aberkans yday).
I have got loads of things this morning - buckaroo and kerplunk and pick up sticks for grand total of 7.09which I am chuffed with. As nan has dementia she struggles to learn new games, and now struggles to remember games we have always played so these will give us something to keep us all occupied over Christmas
Wilkinsons have plastic baths for £1.50 - would be fab for a toiletries type hamper.
They also had rafia ribbon which I think someone was looking for on here? They had his coloured set or packs of brown
And a few charity pin badges, though was a bit disappointed on the haultwo breast cancer and one british heart foundation. Anyone any suggestions of where else is selling badges other than the actual charity shops? Disappointed that AgeUK dont seem to do any (in relation to nan having dementia).
:rudolf: Christmas and OS MS Addict :rudolf:0 -

could you not buy the things separately and hamper them? Would probably be a lot cheaper since at least some of that cost will be for the fancy box?
200ml face wash £8
150ml face scrub £8
150ml post shave balm £9
150ml shave gel £8
plus Boots have it on 3 for 2 atm so you could get so much more for your money! Only thing you won't get is the shaving brush and cup!0 -

I know, this year i will be waiting for the free tv guide with the newspapers, normally i rush and get the radio times the day it comes out, highlighter pens in hand!0 -
I only ever buy the Radio Times at Christmas. It's tradition stemming from my grandma but I don't think i'll bother this year. Maybe a cheaper one of the TV guides but do they still put TBA on films and the like?NOvember Challenge #33: shopping £35/£180 ~ NSD's 0/25 ~ blips £0
:rudolf:OS Weightloss Christmas Challenge: 0lbs/5lbs
Mortgage Deposit Fund: £22.350 -
MarliesMummy I dont think you are being at all mean, great idea from LazySheep to get them seperately, I would be doing that if it was me
Ive seen a coat I'd love in Next but no way on earth would I buy it when I know full well it would be half price day after Boxing Day, I know its always possible they could sell out so will be none in the sale, but if that happens I'll take it as a sign Im not meant to have it!!
some things I'd buy as really want them for Christmas Eve/Day etc, but something like the TB set which you know will be so much less after Christmas, I'm with you totally that it seems a lot to pay0
