We have the second handy man of the day round to sort things out in the flat. He's turned all the electrics off, so to say this is a silent and awkward experience is an understatement! Our little flat isn't great for having strangers in to do jobs I have nowhere to hide haha!
don't envy you! I have developed a real phobia the last few years of people coming into the house to do jobs, it's got to the stage I will only have them in on a day that DH will be here and I go out and let him deal with it, then he texts me when it's done and they are gone!
I think it stems from a couple of times when Ive had people in and had the sharp intake of breath and 'theres something else here that needs fixing/changing/doing' which is going to cost loads more and Im left wondering if they are taking the mickey thinking they are dealing with a female who wont know better any! I feel very uncomfortable and anxious waiting to see what they are going to say and what else they are going to find to charge me for! I think I'm the only person in the world with workpeopleaphobia!:D0 -

not sure, I like you carried on the tradition of buying RT, but no more0 -
I think the BBC Good Food Christmas edition is usually out early November? will keep an eye when I go shopping and post if I see it
Has anyone seen the M&S Christmas maagazine yet? it's usually out late October but none there today in my store and staff said they hadnt seen one yet0 -
WOW! Just caught up on 25 pages.
Whoever was looking for inspiration for bf/dh who liked "named" clothes, I've seen somewhere on the forum (or maybe in the newsletter) PLain Lazy sometimes do half price goodie bags either for men, women or child with t-shirt, cap and some other items of clothing. Would that appeal to him?
OMO - I've worked with children the austic spectrum in the past. One girl I supported had a target to understand metaphoric phrases and not take them literally. There isn't enough understanding. A friend who has a son with Aspergers gets him to wear a t-shirt when they go out to busy places/airport etc which says something like "I'm not naughty, I have Aspergers" or something similar.
I love buying the tv guide at Christmas, the only time of year I buy one but TBH I usually just pick up the cheapest one. We always mark what we want to watch/record.0 -

I often leave my bf to do it aswel. Last time the Landlord came to visit I 'accidentally' scheduled it on his day off knowing I would be working!!
Luckily the people were not here to long this morning, but now I need some new windows fitted which I think I will conveniently be in work for and bf will be off again! Just makes me so uncomfortable urghh!!!
Anywhos, like 10 hours til payday now!! Cant wait to go the shops tomorrow and see what bits I can pick up!!
Also (going to try and add a photo now)
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh wont work!!
Doing a bad job of it, so leaving that. Its a picture of some glass souffle dishes that I have kept & ope to make small gifts from for some of the girls in work. I want to personalize them with nice tags etc but Im just not sure what to put in them? Either chocolates etc or go down the toiletries route. What do you think?!0 -

You could put in a few marshmellows, biscuits, nuts etc. And, a little note attached to the jar with instructions for making rocky road... Or something like that.0 -
Hi all,
Newbie here, been lurking and it's too two weeks to read through all posts!! Wish I'd found you sooner.
I'm a wife and mum of one little boy who is 2, we are having christmas at home this year for the first time ever and that coupled with my son starting to understand christmas I'm super excited!!
Nearly done all presents for DS haven't paid full price for anything used discount codes and offers for it all.
Haven't started my main shopping for family as yet don't do that till first weekend in dec when OH gets his bonus got my list sorted though.
Started getting little bits, today I got the kids wrapping paper from the hallmark outlet store for £1 a roll.
Ordered a christmas bedding set from H&M for DS and some lovely tree decs I used codes - 0230 for 25% off one item and then 1304 for £5 off you can use them together saved my self £8!
I'm doing the elf on the shelf thing going to do a hamper on 1st dec for DS with elf, advent calander, Xmas bedding and some chocs for him then we will all watch polar express and put the tree up!!0 -
