I think my husband would think I was totally off my rocket if he came in and found us doing that lol, does sound fun though! I have a confession though....,,,, I've never seen polar express  defiantly on my list for this year though!

Does anyone else's partner not understand the early excitement of Xmas? Mine hates me even mentioning it and it's a battle trying to get the girls excited too lol.

I've managed to get a couple of little gifts to put away but been really skint lately so not managed to take offers up that I would have liked.

Been having health probs too so rly struggling to get in the right mood, got a couple of mri's coming up and rly scared so once they're over hopefully I'll be chirpier!

There's a new shop in our town called tiger I think, it's like a mini ikea and lots and lots of fun things, I noticed nice beads for bracelet making and beautiful little old fashioned jars for £1 which will be lovely to fill with sweets & tie with ribbon

if you have never seen it you will love it! it's a beautiful film and so Christmassy! :T definatly my favourite

my OH doesnt mind about the early Christmas talk, but he's never really been huge on Christmas, he tends to enjoy me and the kids being excited about it and he always loves watching them open pressies etc, but hes a typical man really, he thinks about Christmas on Christmas Eve and it doesnt really cross his mind too much before! the kids love it though they sometimes tell me Im more excited than them :D

hubby is a Christmas Eve shopper  so ive perfected the art of The List in October ... then he loses it so I give it to him again ... then I watch the price of the books/DVDs/cd's etc on Amazon and tell him when they are the best price to order them ... Ive been known to order things of the list myself and just hand him the box when it arrives, otherwise everything will be out of stock on 24th!

you really need to buy it! I love watching it! DH was home just after 5:30 so the film had finished.

He doesn't understand the excitement over Christmas - esp so early. If it was up to him the tree would stay in the box & we'd all starve over the festive period!

My OHs Birthday is 4th December so we don't fully start Christmas mode until after that, he thinks I am nuts to be so organised and rolls his eyes when I tell him i got somebody something for Christmas but then usually when I tell him how much I saved he agrees it makes sense!

My oh thinks I'm crazy to be so excited about Xmas but its always been made magical for me when I was a kid and his was just him and his mum since his dad died when he was ten so I can kind of understand it!! I have to pick my own presents off him and sometimes order them or I'll end up with nothing I also have to sort his family out and he gives me the money he really is hopeless but I must admit I like it that way and I think I'm getting h to enjoy Xmas now ern though we don't have kids I still make a big fuss about it and do Xmas eve hampers etc and a Xmas film every night from the first coke advert on tv!! Plus I have 3 little cus and a little brother who we spend alot of time with especially near Xmas do that ets him more excited I can't wait till I have kids though!!

    Hi All

Phew this thread is picking up pace now, it's just took me ages to catch up.

Well, to go with the theme I am currently sat on my bed drinking hot chocolate, with whipped cream and flake on top (Thanks to kind DD) watching....Miracle on 34th Street (the remake not the original, though I adore both) for about the 50th time, lol.

I have bought a few more adult xmas pressies this week but have just realised that they all have birthdays prior to xmas, so I am not any further on really as I will still have to sort their xmas pressies

Welcome all new xmas nutters. Its great there are so many like minded on here.

my hubby didnt really get the point of christmas when we first met! at his house, fueds had broken up the family and for the couple of years before i knew him, xmas was a sombre affair at his house with no siblings, nieces or nephews that he was used to been around. just him, his mum and dad. it was a case of a turkey dinner in silence because everyone was thinking how things used to be! then on with normal everyday activities.
there wasnt any gifts, they would exchange money in the run up, a tree but no decs.... you get the picture!

but over the years i have definatley changed him! on our first xmas he asked if we shouldnt bother buying each other gifts :eek:which i refused to agree with! i had to buy my own gifts that year (he gave me the money) but as the years have gone on, he started picking them himself and the past couple of years ive actually liked them :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

8 years on with 3 kids and he loves christmas, he has previously refused to talk aboiut it before july 13th (his bday) but this year we have bought ds1 and dd's main presents already (ds1 in march i think) which he paid for, so its getting earlier ;)

we can now talk about our childhood xmasses and memories together which i love!

so overall, although he doesnt start the xmas conversations, hes always a part of them now :T:T:T

have put in an order with avon today,

    got my nanna some perfume
and dd a barbie toiletries set for her xmas eve hamper.
but thats about it really, i need to pick things up a gear!

i was hoping to get some things this week, now that dh's bday has been and gone, but i just happened to spend £140 in next on saturday on the kids which needs paying back to dh's overdraft :o and i have my sisters birthday on friday, so i dont think ill be making much difference this week!

on a plus note i now have

£17 on my morrisons stamps (a £50 one is already done and being looked after by my mum until nearer the time, easier to spend in fiftys rather than hundreds!)

    £40.40 of boots points

£18.60 clubcard points, hoping to get at least £20 if not £25 for their next double up

£6.24 in nectar points, im guessing i will leave this one until next xmas as its slow to top up and i pop to sainburys local most days!

and yesterday the hubby put £11 worth of change into my sealed pot, i reckon i have £40-50 in there by now

so its not all bad, although i would love to be able to start crossing people of my list!

just in case your not sick of my installments tonight...

i also got 6 of the heart decs with the doves and 6 of the heart decs with butterflys which i will either use in my home (although im not sure where they will go!) or i will attach them to my gifts to give them extra 'oomph' and people will have a keepsake. i think they could be used on a xmas tree aswell!
