Getting so excited reading through this only 160 days to go!
Just preordered the rudolph monopoly so hopefully will have some vouchers from surveys come through in time to add them for payment and even saw Xmas cards in 2 shops in town yesterday
I normally do quite a bit in the jan sales but had our 5th monster on jan 9th this year so haven't got too much in yet, got all the table decs and cards but am starting on the presents this week in the Argos toy sale they have some fab bits and know that one of my girls would love the biscuit dog so hope they have one still on Thursday!
One of my girls is off school Ill today and Hubbie has taken the baby out for the day as a trial run ( I go back from maternity full time on sept 10th and he's a stay at home dad) so going to sort through what I have and start on lists and see what Xmas DVDs we need xx

Ive caved and pre ordered Rudolph Monopoly too!

You are all a bad influence, just placed my second order at dotcomgifts. Also spent £400 in the next sale! 3 new suits for DH He really needed them as his are getting old and he starts his new job soon. Clothes for next year for my boys, and an outfit each for my best friends 4 children for Christmas.

DH is from India and is Hindu so only started celebrating Christmas when we met. therefor he believes me when i say everybody puts this much effort into Christmas! I think he may have figured out i'm bonkers by now, but he still seems to enjoy it.

That looks sweet but like doesn't the gingerbread go off?!? How long do you keep it for? x

No the gingerbread will be fine for a couple of weeks (although presumably you wouldn't light the candles for too long), that's why you can have gingerbread houses or gingerbread decorations on the tree.

Yeah I've seen those and always wondered about them going mouldy after a few days! I thought you made houses then ate them!! x

Urban Outfitters have some nice novelty gifts in the sale. I've just got a monkey wine cover and a banana bottle stopper for £10 and I had a free delivery code. Good for older teens/adults in their 20s/30s or even Secret Santa
    Dooyoo £10.40/40, TopCashBack £17.19/30, Valued Opinions 50p/£10, Swagbucks 0/£20, Ebay £15/£25

I've actually only made houses with a ready to make kit (from Ikea or Lakeland), and they keep for months and months.

Just got my first order from dotcom gifts. I can really recommend the zink planters. Last week i got DS to take a load of cuttings with me from our Christmas cactus. I have put the pots in the planters and they will look really good when the plants get a bit bigger. I am going to use them as teacher gifts and will find a verse about growing them to put on a label. it certainly wont look like they have cost £1.95 each.

Definitely best doing both at the same time, both my oldests were done at Claire's and didn't even break a tear, they'd been wanting them done for ages. My friend recently pierced my youngest after her begging (she's licenced and all was sterile) but only did one at a time and it took a hell of a lot of convincing (and bribing) to let us do her second ear!
When I was 3 I wouldnt let them pierce the other year so I went around with only one ear pierced for ages. :D

    Hehe crafty! :D

I did quote quite a few other posts but they havent come up grr.
My fave film is Fred Claus, the snowglobe bit at the end mixed with the song Silent Night gets me every time! I do like the storyline of Polar Express but it really creeps me out! :o I ordered a £10 amazon voucher using nectar points yesterday and I have £3 something leftover from a gift certificate so Im going to use that to get DS the Dr Who Dalek factory (£12.99 from £29.99 on amazon and other places, been that price for ages. No-one wants them it seems lol but it is a bargain for Dr Who fans. The Dr Who huge Tardis 'lego' set is only £12.49 on amazon too, huge bargain!) We're saving our Tesco clubcard points until the double up event before christmas, will hopefully have enough to get a bike for DS. We have around £18 atm, need around £35 so will have to start shopping there regularly again. I have free delivery vouchers for 6 weeks and DS hates shopping so they will definitely be used over the summer hols, all adds up!
What hampers are everyone doing this year? I really like doing movie hampers (wish someone would do one for me!) but cant really think of anyone I could give one too! Maybe one of my brothers but I was intending on making him a different hamper. Hmmm I really want to make one lol! *stamps feet* :D Ooh ooh I just thought maybe I can make my sister (will be 16) a Robert Pattinson movie night in hamper, Ive already bought her a Twilight blanket so just need a few Robert Pattinson films and some goodies. Bit more expensive than just the blanket plus few smaller pressies as intended :o but I think it would look really good with black tissue paper and ribbon etc. :D Im also making my SIL a cocktail girls night in hamper and a few homemade goodies hampers. Plus christmas eve basket. Sure Ill think of more hehe. :D

Don't know if this is any use for anyone but I have just noticed on mysupermarket that T$sco has Robertsons traditional mincemeat at 30p for a 411g jar (and apparently that's until 20th Aug). Don't know what the dates are like but I would assume they're fairly decent.

Recipe from another forum, sounds lovely :T
    MINCE SQUARES

    6OZ MARGARINE
    3 OZ SUGAR
6 OZ FAROLA .... aka Semolina
    6 OZ SR FLOUR
    1/2 TEASPOON MIXED SPICE
    1 JAR MINCEMEAT

    MELT MARG AND SUGAR.
ADD FAROLA AND FLOUR AND MIXED SPICE AND MIX WELL.
PRESS 1/2 MIXTURE INTO SWISS ROLL TIN.
    SPREAD OVER MINCEMEAT.
USING A FORK CRUMBLE REMAINING MIXTURE AND SPRINKLE OVER TOP OF MINCEMEAT.
BAKE GAS 4 FOR 20-30 MINUTES

    Hi All

Pixie Fairydust - Did u manage to get the Peepshow boxset?

    Xxx

No unfortunatley couldn't see any :(

I just think about Christmas more once Strictly starts, we don't start decorating in mid Sept....just want to clear that up! :rotfl:I agree once the Coke ad comes on its really here!

It sounds as though Polar Express is a fav on here, so I will definately invest in it. I have the Frasier Christmas specials too, they are really good.

We have a new shop opening here this weekend called The Range. Is it any good? I've had a look on their website and there looks to be a good 'range' of reasonable stuff.

We also have a Pr!mark opening here in late Nov/early Dec, I can't wait, I love that shop :)

I have no savings either in the bank or on cards :( I think the savings vouchers is something I will do for next year, from A$da. I do save my Mr T vouchers though and just get them in Nov.

Have a fab eve, lovely and sunny here today.

    Pix
