I should add that at Christmas, (probably late October onwards) the range has a mammoth Christmas selection selling everything that you could ever imagine.0

Feeling VERY Christmassy today! Sat with my beautiful DD (20 months) watching polar express, drinking hot chocolate and eating homemade mince pies (thanks to the "Robertson's Mincemeat" on offer for 30p in Tesco
Thinking tonight I might even wrap some pressies! Purely because I have so many I'm gonna need to go store them at my FIL's house as I just don't have the room in my little 2 bedroom flat and I don't want to be worrying about having to get them back early to wrap them then store them again in the run up to Christmas....I just wanna collect them Christmas Eve and not have to worry

Phew i've finally finished reading through the thread! I'm so happy to have found lots of other Christmas nuts, I feel very much at home.
My OH keeps laughing at me reading Christmas threads! He does enjoy Christmas but not really the planning and leading up to it - I think that's my favourite part! You've all been talking about films, for me it wouldn't be Christmas without the Muppets Christmas Carol - my favourite! The Coke truck comes to our Tesco every year and it's very exciting even though it is just a truck with lights on!
You have all got some fab ideas and it's definitely given me food for thought! We don't have any children yet, I get mega excited as it is so I can only imagine it will be even better with children! On that note, I absolutely love the sound of the Christmas Eve hampers, do you think it would be silly to make one for my partner and I without kids?
I've been squirrelling pressies away during the year from the sales, I save a bit each month into a savings account to relieve the pressure in December and I am saving Tesco stamps. I've got a few days yet this week until I get paid and i'm trying so hard to resist the urge to go into some of the sales I have seen! Although this thread is a bad influence I should be buying things for my SUMMER holiday abroad first instead of Christmas presents! :rotfl:
Very much looking forward to lots more Christmas chat with you all. :beer:0 -

that's really interesting what you said about your husband, as I think my Christmas obsession comes at it from the other side of the coin, we didnt have much money and had family issues with my dad (alcohol) so Christmas wasnt really great, he would get into fights with brother, or brother in law, my sister would come to the house breifly to see me and mum but then leave, I think mainly once I had 'control' of 'my' Christmas I have always been determined it will be magical as it wasnt really when I was little, so was determined my kids would always have magical Christmaseshubby had very happy family growing up, always had house full at Christmas, so perhaps that is the norm for him so he doesnt see it as a big thing? either way as long as it's magical for all of us Im happy bunny!

i love that you have seen the discrepencies from your own childhood and amended them for your children, you see so many people that just do as they have experienced themselves. and thats not just at christmasMummy to ds 29/12/06 dd 10/2/08 ds 25/5/11:Amy angel born too soon 18/11/12, always with me Emmie Faith:A15 projects in 2015 10/15completed0 -
Thanks to various people on this thread, today I got some purple and blue gingerbread-men shaped tupperware boxes from Poundland (so much better and bigger than I was picturing them!) and two of the mini perfumes from the M&S sale.
I bloody love this thread. *hugs thread*:rudolf: :rudolf: :rudolf: :rudolf: :rudolf:0 -

in argos i got a ipod nano wrist strap reduced to £7 for dh when hes on his bike (he found it though, so has it now:mad:!)
also got a oneil wallet, which could go for my little brother, that was £3 there was also a belt and peaked beanie hat for £5 each i was gonna get them for little bro, but they were adult size so may be too big! debating whether to pick them up as stocking fillers for dh

Ooh theres a Range 30 minutes from here, will definitely have to take a trip there before christmas! I already drive 45 mins to the nearest Home Bargains. :rotfl:Thankfully a B&M opened in town last year and Family Bargains 15 mins away earlier this year.
I really want to have more traditional decorations this year, dont get me wrong I lurve glitter and sparklyness. But I also love the style of all the vintage christmas stuff at dotcomgiftshop. Love these in particular: http://www.dotcomgiftshop.com/tealight-holder-hanging-trad-xmas http://www.dotcomgiftshop.com/50s-christmas-house-advent-calendar and this is my favourite.

Popped into ASDA on the way home this evening....they have lots of Little Kitty, Spiderman/ Marvel and Peppa Pig items in!!
The Little Kitty pieces I couldn't resist (i never can); managed to get a wand with two bubble sets for £2 and a sparkly baton (like troope dancers have) £3 to put away for my god-daughter.
I think I need an escort for my shopping trips to make me stop seeing (buying) bargains LOLStopped smoking 20th October 2012
This year I will have something that resembles a garden and not a building site!0
