I had both of my ear piercings done at a jewellers too, they took you into a back little room which to me seemed better than in the middle of the shop next to the window like they do in our Claires!!!

Ooooh and edited in to agree with midnightraven, I just used salt water solution and good old savlon as aftercare for them.

I had Miss Hoodies done at our local Claires, (they had gloves on), we paid extra so she could have 9ct studs, I know when we asked some of our jewellers wouldn't pierce kids ears.
If u are going to try Claires, i'd pop in a couple of times to see what they are like.

  • Thank you for that. I really hope we can find somewhere nice that's not going to cost a fortune! Anyone got any recommendations for Saltash or Plymouth? Thanks

A few pages ago people were talking about their favourite Christmas movies, I would like to buy some so what would you all recommend?

went to the carboot 2day and got 4 x records for £1 will try and make record bowls coz they look cool :) and could use them as the base of a hamper im thinking of filling them with a dvd or 2, micro popcorn, mini fizzy cans etc for kids wrapped in cello
  • Thank you for all your suggestions, I am writing them all down and will try to buy them from @mazon or if I see them in the work$ or a$da/Mr T.

Would barney be suitable for very young children (14 months)? My children were never into Barney  We had the teletubbies and the tweenies xmas specials.

I must write a list and get cracking buying some bits and pieces.

I think I'm going to do my daughter a 'relaxing' hamper. She has a 10 month old little girl and I think she could do with it! So far I have got her the new paperback Flash and Bones, she likes crime stuff. I will put in some xmassy pj's and slipper boots too.

I have 4 white mugs (from the 2nd hand shop) which I am going to paint with very simple xmassy designs - holly leaves and berries I think. So I need some pens for this. Then I'm going to do snowman soup with the mugs all wrapped in cellophane.

Have a good week, dreaming of a white christmas :T

PS What signifies the start of the countdown to Christmas for you? I know we love to countdown all year!

Mine is when Strictly Come Dancing starts :j:j:j

PS2 We always put our tree up on the 1st Sunday in December, so this year it will be Sunday 2nd
