  • Christmas Book Alert!!

they seem to all be arriving in Mr T, went to pick up my fibre optic tree and noticed them, they have Carole Matthews 'With Love At Christmas' (3.86 or 2 for £7) and A Merry Little Christmas - Julia Williams (£2.99) both of which I picked up, they have the new Milly Johnson Winter Flame and Christmas At The Cupcake Cafe hardback (no price on it) there were 2 other paperbacks that I hadnt seen on Amazon, so clearly its taking off as a genre this year!

I just had to tell you this lol

I just came back from my Midwife appointment and there is a really lovely trainee midwife who i've seen before and she is so nice. Within about 30 seconds we were already chatting about Christmas and the older more senior Midwife chastised her because apparently she had been talking about Christmas all day - I quickly confessed I had started it though ;)

It made me realise it is just that kind of thing that makes it feel Christmassy - everyone talking about it and the music and decorations everywhere :)

    It's getting closer :D

Have you read Skipping Christmas by John Grisham - story of Christmas with The Kranks http://www.amazon.co.uk/Skipping-Christmas-Kranks-John-Grisham/dp/0099559994
  • Mum just found the Christmas cushions and ran with them in to the living room and I have been told to sit on them so dad can't hide them!

Its starting to feel like Christmas with the weather so we do need the cushions, honest. :)

  • Could be worse! My brother told me yesterday what he would like, that it is all he needs (my brain thinking about what I have already got him!) - a kettle!!!!!!!!!!!:rotfl:

I asked my brother what he wanted for his birthday (dec 4th) and Christmas and he asked for travel towels (those microfibre-y type ones from blacks etc!) chocolate fireguard would make more sense if asked!

Love that book! I read it every year. Read it this month in fact. It's pretty different from the later film version, but I do like both!

  • Oh and on a totally random note - I am an absolute addict of Pistachio ice cream but hate paying £3 a scoop at many places as no stores sell it in tubs. I even emailed Mr T begging them to stock it! Well when I went in my Mr T Extra on Friday they are now stocking it (Joe Delucci range). It tastes amazing and I feel like Christmas has come early for me!! :j It is on a limited edition so not sure how long it will stay for...I hope forever! :T

W@itrose sell their own make pistachio ice cream. Seriously nutty pistachio ice cream, it's 500ml for about 3.80.
It really is lovely but I admit I buy the nuts from w@itrose and make my own
  • Ooo Pinksteps wish I had your W@itrose near me :( I've spent so long searching for Pistachio ice cream and couldnt believe I finally found it again in a store!

I really should make my own but I get that horrible feeling that it will crystalise and go horrible on me. Maybe I will give it a shot though :)
  • @cdsmiler - glad to find someone else who gets excited over Pistachio ice cream! I love it!!! :) I'm thinking I may need to stock up my freezer just incase it's a temporary decision on Mr T's part. Fingers crossed it's a permanent addition xx
