:xmastree:Morning fellow elf and elfettes, feeling quite chrismassy today, the kids were playing with my phone this morning before school and found my Xmas playlist, admittedly they did have Moshi Monster "Twistmas Time is Here" on a loop, but its still left me feeling festive.
I have ordered my cello bags in prep for Snowman soup, am going to make for DD's teachers/assistants and their best friends. Going to make some fudge and put in the other bags with pretty ribbons for the girlies at work. Really wanted to get into Primark and Poundland on Friday but taking parents to train station right in the middle of the day so will have to wait another week.
Can anyone tell me - the kids Xmas onsies in Primark, do they have feet on them?0 -

I used to wait until the pouches were on offer for £1 and then buy them but when they sent the cinema ticket they also sent a money off voucher for 75p so worked out quite well. I'd spend £4.00 to get one cinema ticket - considering a cinema ticket here is £8.60 - saved quite a bit and got chocolate to eat which is never a bad thing
I was umming and ahhing about buying them on offer for £1 last time in tesco, because a cinema ticket is so expensive these days spending £4 is a bargain, plus you get the chocolate :rotfl:
But I decided not to in the end and the branded cinema on offer aren't easily accessible from here bus wise, I can only really go to two different odeons and they're never included in the offer
I hope you get to watch something nice anyway
I saved £20 from selling the MR Men books I had spare so I'm hoping they'll be a good cartoon out on the cinema to take DS to see for christmas, He's too young to really want to see nativity 2 or anything like that, He'd just be bored.Having a coke with youis even more fun than going to San Sebastian, Irun, Hendaye, Biarritz, Bayonne
or being sick to my stomach on the Travesera de Gracia in Barcelona0 -

There was loads I wanted to comment on but it's all got a bit much now! Good luck and best wishes to all the mums-to-be and mums-that-might-already-be - we shall wait to hear! Welcome newbies and lurkers, and well done to everyone on all bargains! Also thanks to those of you who gave me ideas for the golf boxers, I shall check out TKMax and Next.
The only Christmas shopping i've managed this week is a book and dvd for my OH. I have a massive long list typed out all ready to be bought, i'm itching to get out and buy it all but I just haven't had the time! I'm going to pop to Poundland at lunchtime today to make a start. I found this on Amazon that I really want to buy for my OH as we've just bought a home together:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Gifts-Men-leads-screws-pointless/dp/B004T8MVME
But it got me thinking that this might be a good present for any men that are hard to buy for? You could fill it with chocs and things for Christmas. Just an idea if anyone is stuck.
I'm getting excited as i'm going home to my parents in a couple of weeks and they have a Home Bargains so i'm setting some time aside to go in there! I'm also visiting my auntie in Sheffield at the start of November and i'm hoping they have B&M's (is that what you call it?) or similar! :T
My 4 year old daughter got that tin for DH last christmas, she wanted to buy him a 'box of things', filled it with Christmas socks, chocs etc.Slightly worn out mum to 3 (DS1 May 03, DS2 Feb 05, DD1 Feb 08). When i grow up i think i'll become a UN Peace keeper....0 -

Im doing home-made style tickets, and we will collect once we get there! I agree, we spend all year preparing for the elves & santa to get all the credit, youngest dd even drew a picture to thank rudolph for driving santas sleigh last boxing day grrrrr :rudolf:
Lol! I love making it magical for the kids but there is a little bit of me that thinks "hmph - bah" but saying that all they have talked about is Joe (our elf) this, will Joe doing this, that & the other, I can't believe the impact he's had on the kids, they are way more excited about him returning (they hope) than presents, Christmas Day or anything else, even the Christmas Eve hamper he left last year gets talked about loads, got to think of a new poem to go with it this year!
On a slightly off topic comment, postie has just been and some cards have arrived from funky pigeon addressed to my dh presumably for my birthday, you know you're deal obsessed when the first words that come out of your mouth are "bet he didn't get a flipping code" oops!~ What's for you, won't go past you! ~0 -

Same here!
I was looking in hopes of buying our Christmas dinner as a one off treat this year and was absolutely gobsmacked!
It's a shame because they don't do a Turkey/package that would suit small families and they probably could fill a bit of a market gap there too.
The cost of the Turkeys were enough to give me heart palpitations alone!
Think I will stick with my idea of buying as much ready made from Tesco this year (hubby is cooking!)
bit disappointed though id have loved to have been able to treat us to a bit of luxury as their food is nice but nothing could justify those prices unfortunately.Everything is always better after a cup of tea0 -

I buy the 3 Bird Roast and the Lamb. Costs about £75 but its my yearly treat, and my Dad really likes the 3 Bird roast, and I like the idea of paying the £20 deposit and then I pay a little bit off each week.0
