Most of it is overpriced, I looked at the prawn cocktail and it was £15, even if you wanted to be really lazy you can buy the ready made fresh tubs in any supermarket for a lot cheaper! The macaroons they sold in packs last year and were in the 4 for 3 deal, so would work out a lot cheaper! I'm going to go with one of the meal deals use the £5 off, the free bottle of wine to make it a little more cost effective! I've got a fair amount of m&s e & paper vouchers that I've gained over the year and my quidco & tcb so won't actually cost me a penny. It's a one off treat and still far cheaper than going out which is what dh wanted to do until he saw the prices!~ What's for you, won't go past you! ~0

:xmastree:Morning fellow elf and elfettes, feeling quite chrismassy today, the kids were playing with my phone this morning before school and found my Xmas playlist, admittedly they did have Moshi Monster "Twistmas Time is Here" on a loop, but its still left me feeling festive.
I have ordered my cello bags in prep for Snowman soup, am going to make for DD's teachers/assistants and their best friends. Going to make some fudge and put in the other bags with pretty ribbons for the girlies at work. Really wanted to get into Primark and Poundland on Friday but taking parents to train station right in the middle of the day so will have to wait another week.
Can anyone tell me - the kids Xmas onsies in Primark, do they have feet on them?
Hi, long time lurker. Some of the onesies have feet. for the girls, its a pink "moooooody cow" one, and the boys is a shark one with fins (its for the over 3's, the younger ones have feet too!), but I only have a small primark so there may be others, but they sold pretty fast.

Hi all
Jsut spending my lunchbreak looking at M and S food range, some of it looks lovely BUT the cost!!!!... This is my first christmas cooking for my family and inlaws so I want it to be nice and as least stressful as it can be. I am a bit stuck on turkey at the moment (I have never ordered a turkey and not sure size I should order or whether to get a bird or a crown)
I wanted to look at M and S for ideas and I love that you can order and collect I HATE the last tesco shop before christmas and I dont trust the online ordering in my area they are rubbish (items going out of date on delivery day which really really angers me). I might try sainsburys as there furit and veg is pretty good, does anyone know when their christmas ranges are out. I know it seems a bit soon to be discussion the meal BUT I like to be as orgnaised as possible and so I can make sure the money I have put away is enough!!!0 -

If this is your first time cooking a turkey crown would probably be OK. A whole Turkey is OK if you want to use the carcass for stock etc. How many do you have coming for dinner?0 -

I'm also visiting my auntie in Sheffield at the start of November and i'm hoping they have B&M's (is that what you call it?) or similar! :T
You'll be pleased to hear we have 3 B&M stores in SheffieldCity Centre, Heeley Retail Park and Meadowhall Retail Park

Oh my! I've just spent 90mins catching up on the thread. Can't remember most of what I've read either apart from sweet flavoured vodkas, the price of m&s food (never have liked m&s myself) and people needing primarni christmas jumpers :rotfl:
Today, pressie for neice1 arrived, I've officially started the Christmas shopping
I usually buy a turkey crown at Christmas, mainly because neither of us are that keen on the brown meat or meat on the bone like drumsticks etc.
I wish I could do the christmas elf thing but don't think DH would believe that a toy came to life and did naughty michievious things around the house :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Please don't feel like anyone has to justify what they spend, I was just saying that for me I was shocked, it was the first year I had ever seen their food and wasn't quite prepared for what I saw.
We know we all have different budgets and do what we can within thosenobody should feel the need to justify where from or what they buy - especially to me who spent £12 on a penguin onesie for me and £5 for a penguin onesie for the baby so we could match ROFL!!!!
I got a £5 amazon voucher from a survey site yesterday and ordered 2 ww christmas cookbooks im hoping to get further inspiration from those regarding what we eat this year. They were a bit of a naughty buy but 2 for just over £3 but cost me nothing effectively.
I am seriously considering the tesco frozen £5 turkey roll type thing.
I will probably buy it on payday in 2 weeks time just so i have the peace of mind they dont sell out!Everything is always better after a cup of tea0 -
Bought my youngest DD's main pressie in toys r us yesterday. A pink fisher price car garage, she is going to love it.
They had nice Xmas food bits in lidl yesterday when I went in there for the first time but the rest of the food wasn't that cheap so I didn't bother, I thought I was getting some bargains!0 -
I've got £20 of Thorntons' vouchers due from my surveys next week so I'm hoping to stock up on some pressies for school. Anyone know if they have any good offers there at the moment?0
