I've never made the skittles vodka but from what I've read you might need more skittles in there. And considering you obviously don't want to waste it, it may taste better from the freezer? I've made werthers vodka and haven't actually sampled it yet but last year's was lush so fingers crossed.0

Morning ladies (and any gents)
In bed in my Christmas Pj's, listening to some Christmas music whilst sipping a marzipan latte...bliss
Today I'm nipping into town to finish my Halloween and Bonfire party supplies off - sweets! Then all I'll need to get is the food.
Obviously I'll be keeping an eye out for Christmas things and hope to get the rudolph scene it.
You guys are all right there isn't many weekends left at all, when you take into account what needs doing - wrapping, putting tree up, Christmas markets etc
Also loving the chocolate sleighs, that's sorted a few things out!
Usually I do my Brothers shopping for him with regards to my Parents but with him being off work till at least January, I'm thinking I can take him shopping and he can do it himself this year.
We live near a Westfield shopping centre and you can hire wheelchairs there (we've done it a couple of times already) so he can pick some stuff out himself.
Need to order Mum's wellies today. Getting her some Radley ones (she loves Radley) they are pretty pricey at £40 but she wears them all the time for Dog Walking so I know she'll use them. Plus till today they have free postage so that saves a £5, so I must order them!0 -
Hi there, I'm another lurker who's been reading this thread for months!
I'm 32 weeks pregnant with our first child so trying to get organised for Christmas well in advance of my due date. Can't wait until our lo is old enough for Christmas hampers although I'm already thinking of what traditions I want to start.
I've never made skittles vodka but last year I made jolly rancher vodka for BIL and it was a huge hit!! I did four flavours, put eight of each into 250ml glass bottles with stoppers, topped up with vodka and just shook every day to keep the fla put coming out. A couple of days before Christmas I put a couple more into the bottles just to top up the flavours and they were awesome! Went down a treat! BIL has his order in for more this year and its super easy to make.
I got the cute stopper bottles out of TK Maxx last year for £2.50 and I've asked him for them back for this year's lot.
I've only really sorted my nephew (5) and my cousin (6) which I've mostly it from the grabbit board and other bargains. Now just all the adults to think about- mum, dad, sister, sisters bf, hubs, mil, BIL, aunt, uncle, grandparents.
Unfortunately, we've got mountains of family birthdays in December ( three on Xmas eve alone!) so we need to factor all them in too. Poor family planning on our part...we're just about to add another one. Oops.

we are never home on xmas eve as we go visiting so iv decided to make my kids a Christmas hamper to give them at the beginning of the month filled with all the xmas dvd and books we have plus arts and crafty bits chocs etc so they can just go to the hamper when they are 'board' and get something xmasy to do0 -
melon78 - I only live around 30-40mins from Reading now so will have to make a special trip there!
ostaragirl - I think you have found some now but I got my mugs from Robert Dyas.
OwnMyOwn - those boots look fab for your rock chick dd! That sounds awful what you went through with your next door neighbour, but i'm glad she's ok and happy now.
moneysavingmumofone - thanks for the pots of gold idea, I think I will do that just to jazz them up a bit!
Damzel in Distress - You're not mad at all, I always start my shopping in the January sales! I buy things I think people will like and stash them away. Some come out for birthdays and there's always some left the following Christmas!
carlamarie - Yes i'm glad we've got this thread to share all of our Christmas buys with without persecution!
StarSquishy - great idea with the onesies, I would love to see that!!!!!
Lala Gomay - Thanks for the heads up on the Poundland online shopping, I don't have a Poundland where I live now. I know they'll charge postage but i'd only pay that in petrol trying to get to one i'm sure!
Deb S - great idea using trays for hampers, I really like that.
gupalsmurthpadacal - I know you have already decided what to get your friends who are couples but I just wanted to say that I am making some of my 'couple' friends a film hamper. I'm putting in a £5 Blockbuster voucher to cover the cost of renting one film, then adding a bag of chocs, a bag of sweets, popcorn and some coke. My OH and I received a fondue set between us last year with some Lindt choclate and a bag of marshmallows, that was lovely too.
Crowdpleaser - what a lovely idea to get a jigsaw to do with your mum, if it's something you used to do together i'm sure she'd love it and find it very special.
Welcome to nic2075 and JoJoC and anyone else i've missed!
Sorry for the long post i'm just catching up!
I don't have any children yet but after seeing you all chatting about Norad i'm going to have to look it up this year! Very sad but I can't help it!
We also got our advent calendars yesterday, we always have Cadburys ones as my OH doesn't like other chocolate that much. At first he wasn't interested in getting them at all, but we had a money off voucher if we spent £20 whilst shopping, we were just under £20 so he let my get the advent calendars! :j I told him i'd buy them anyway so we might as well get them to get money off our shopping! :T0 -
morning all, thanks for the links to the finished hampers!0
