    Hello ladies,
Would also love to join this thread - like all of you guys I am also Christmas mad!! Spent the whole evening last night reading this entirte thread and just sooooo happy to hear there are people like me out there - again, like many of you my oh thinks Im mad! Cant remember who said what (alot of reading was done lol) but someone spoke about making lists - I love making lists (yes, Im sad too) and think the joy for me is in the whole prepartion of the day.

I have 2 children (dd 4, ds 7). Im on my 3rd year of doing hampers including snowman soup, reindeer food etc. Love making Xmas bits (trying to I should say) and the long cold nights with the curtains drawn and all snuggled on the sofa watching Xmas dvds - love that some many of you have already mentioned that you love these things too :)

I started my list and shopping thanks to some major bargains on Grabbit mid May and am already nearly done (others that is- havent even started on my 2 yet)!! I usually start in August just as I finish my dd's bday and people generally think Im mad then! I do have 23 kids and 13 adults to buy for mind you - and thats without the teachers, my own 2 kids and my oh and of course a little stash of emergency pressies.

You ladies inspired me even more last night and I have now decided that I am going to attempt a ham,per for my mum, dad, aunt nad uncle - did want to last year but left it too late to actually get bits for adecent price but I figure 6 months should be long enough lol. Took someones (sorry) advice and went out and brought a money box that cant be opened and that will be for Christmas activities this year. Always do small school fayres and local events, lights and annual trip to Selfridges and Hamleys etc but have never been outdoor iceskating or a Panto (always wanted to do both but so expensive) so hopefully the jar will pay for those. Also made a promise that each week when I go food shopping I will get a couple of stamps so hopefully that will go some way to pay for the food shop. Also opened myself a survey account online and plan to do as many of these as possible and sell some bits on ebay so hopefully will be spending neutral money towards Xmas too.
Sorry for the long post but just wanted to let you ladies know who I am and how you have helped me so far xx

Welcome Onriebaby, we go to our local civic centre for the pant, went for the first time last year and it was brilliant so going again this year - was £34 for the three of us and well worth it.

I have been to local and big theatre pantos growing up and I don't think there has been that much difference but maybe it's where I have lived (midlands!).

So while I'm going on about pantos I actually bought our tickets today and was going to give them to dd (6) as part of her xmas pressies - any idea how I can present them?

Thank you Noodles - will have to check my local centres out then. My sons 8th bday next week and still pressies to buy and the rest of his party to pay for and need to put a deposot down on my daughetrs bday party too for August this week so cant buy my tickets for at least another couple of weeks but will have a look anyway.

Re how to present your daughters tickets - you could have a few xmas cards labelled 1 - 6 (maybe in a box) and write one word in each card eg 'we' 'are' 'all' 'going' 'to' 'cinderella (or whatever it is)'. Did this last Xmas to my children and their cousins (6 kids in total) to tell them we were all going to Disneyland Paris together. They all loved the suspense it builds.

You have me looking at all my Christmas pics from last year Lunar - cant wait for this year to come now!! Cant find any pics just of the tree though :( Have a few where its poking into the pic in the corner but none of the tree itself. Its making want to take it all out and decorate the house lol. Will hopefully take some this year.

We didn't buy them until October last year so I'm sure you will still get some good tickets only got them today to spread the cost and funnily enough it is Cinderella!

6 months and I will be stuck around DH's family feeling awkward whilst pretending everyone gets on - thank goodness it's only for a few hours! LOL!

Every Christmas Eve i have family over for a buffet etc but every year i am left to clear up and dont get chance all day to sit down, so this year i am going to give it a miss and snuggle up infront of tv to watch all the Christmas films. Sounds bliss!!!
