Hubby announced today that he's going to go mad on decorations this year, which made me very happy. The last few years we've taken my ds to my SILs for Christmas so haven't really decorated as much as we used to. The initial plan was to alternate, one Christmas at there's the next at ours but SIL always gets her own way and we end up having to go to theirs. This year hubby put his foot down and said we're having it at home because it's dd's first Christmas. SIL put her foot down too and said she wouldn't be attending. :j bonus! Christmas at home and no inlaws, best pressie I could have asked for, I will miss seeing my nephew open his presents though.

What are everyone elses plans? Staying at home? Visiting?

    That made me laugh :rotfl:
Not sure what our Christmas day plans are yet. FIL will be in Oz so MIL and 2 SILs may go to other SILs house. If not, we'll invite them to ours. We've gone too the past couple of years but don't want it to become tradition. Also they have 3 boistrous boys and it can all seem a bit too manic for my liking.

My parents like Christmas day on their own and they invite us all round another day for a party.

I'd quite like it to be just the two of us this year, less stressful, noisy and more relaxing in your own home I think :D
The coke advert is the green light for christmas in our house ( a rule dh invented when we first got together, and its stuck!) as soon as weve seen the advert were allowed to start being christmassy, singing carols, playing xmas songs, watching xmas films, and doing santa lists! I believ the first showing last year was Nov 11th, during xfactor, so we could have a few weeks yet

For me it's not Xmas until the coke advert is on although my bf won't let me watch Xmas films or music etc till after its been on!!

The Coke ad is definitely the start of Christmas in my opinion :D

Ive just ordered two and wodnered what they are like quality wise as Ive not got a Dunel! near me so never been in, I got the green/stocking and the cream/Rudolph one, was gutted they don 't have the hand towels available for home delivery, the Rudolph one looks just beautiful!
  • boo to not having a santas coming to ... here book lol guess we're far too naughty here for him to come lol

Went into town and finished off my number 2 brother and got a bottle of bright green apple sidekick which im going to relabel to put in my 18yr old brothers grinch hamper.. Decided to get chocolate limes as the grinch pills as green jelly beans will cost too much. Also picked up a tin of roses and the mixed sweets tin (love hearts etc tin)

Then went into primark expecting some xmas goodies.. wasn't out yet :( found the xmas throws which are nice so got one and got a cat onesie for dd1.. dd2 wants a penguin one but the females have no hat etc on and they only had xl of the mens ones so will pop in again and see if they have the small size.. nothing for my 10yr old with a hood either booo.. Guess i'll have to have a hunt again for their xmas trays and cushions etc i know that are in other stores.

oooooo can I join in too? I'm a complete Christmas nut :)

This Christmas is not going to be nice for us as a family. My Dad was killed in an accident 10 weeks ago today. A tractor pulled out on him, my Brother and a friend. My brothers pretty badly injured, and the friend was very lucky to walk away with bruises and aches.

I still love Christmas though, but I think I'll like the lead upto it rather than the actual day. We are a very tight knit family so I'm sure we'll pull through together. The first of everything after a death is always hard.
We'll have Christmas dinner at my Aunt's house (Dad's Sister) she cooks lovely food and it's always a chilled atmosphere with the pups running around :)

I'm pretty pleased that I've got most the presents sorted so I can enjoy December rather than running round like a mad women :)

My Gran always since my Dad was a boy has bought him a bottle of matey bubble bath. My Gran passed away 3 years ago so I carried on the tradition. I'd already bought the matey bubble bath before Dad passed away - it was on 3 for 2 in boots.
I gave him a bottle for his Birthday but unfortunately he never got the chance to use it :(
I'm however going to carry on the tradition and give my brother a bottle and ask my DH for a bottle for me :) It'll remind me of my Dad in a good way :)

I've been listening to Christmas music for a while now and love nothing more than wrapping up in a blanket on the sofa, hot choc in hand with a Christmas movie on :)

    it's only 80 odd days away I think :)
