Own my own - It is hard and it will be exactly 6 months since the accident on Christmas eve :( but we shall try our best for my Dad to have a nice day. I know he wouldn't want us to be sad :)

Snugglebunny8 - he's doing well now, we were warned that we could lose him too. He's just a bit broken but incredibly lucky not to have internal injuries and to actually be alive. He also doesn't remember any of the accident so that's a blessing.
My Dad actually swapped places with my brother 30 seconds before the tractor pulled out. If he had'nt of done it's my brother who would of died - my Dad's a hero :)

I think one thing that I've learnt since Dad passed away (he had just turned 50) is that life is too short and so precious.
I'm striving to find hapiness now in everything I do, including the little things.
If playing Christmas music in August, watching movies and doing some Christmas shopping is going to cheer me up a bit then I'm going to do it :)

Thanks to everyone, this forum is wonderful :)

Welcome to the site :) I'm was so sorry to read of your loss but so impressed by your wonderful attitude to life now and I'm so pleased you take pleasure from this site . I too get so excited by the build up and love hearing people's stories and tips etc on here and the best thing is everyone s so friendly too . I've had a really busy weekend as my OH 's daughter stayed with us and started a new job yesterday so missed three days !!! To say I had withdrawal symptons is a understatement !! Anyway peeps only 83 days till Xmas whooooop !!! :rudolf::snow_laug:xmassign::xmastree::santa2: I taped a christmas special my family earlier and when my oldest ds goes to work shortly I'm going to watch it and write out some cards and do some more lists :). Have a nice afternoon everyone

I'm hearing so much about the Yankee candles !! Think I will have to try some this year :) I also like the glade spiced apple ones tht come in such a pretty glass jar with holly on as soon as I light it my mood improves sounds silly I know . Also when the candle has finished I keep the glass jars and put tea lights in them . Over the years I've collected lots :) they look really pretty all lit up :xmastree:
Which type of Yankee candle would you guys recommend ? Any ideas on where I can get some cheaply ? :rudolf:

Cornishorchid - sorry for your loss too. I totally know what you mean by the date thing. My Gran died on my husbands birthday and my best friend's Dad died on her Mum's birthday... talk about timing ;)

Anyway enough of me dithering on :)

I also wish Primark would trade online, I do have a couple near me though so am quite lucky in that respect.
I also desperately want some new Christmas pj's. I've been wearing both pairs of last years!

Feeling quite pleased with myself as best friends's Mum said she really wanted a yankee tart holder as she's got some tarts but her other holder had smashed. I found one on amazon for £5.95 free delivery that matches the colour of her living room perfectly :) so I've knocked another off the list :)

I've been asked to compile a list for my Mum and Husband of what I want. I don't want anything really, what are you lot asking for?

I just bought a tiny Yankee candle on eBay. The Christmas Cupcake one. It smells yummy, but I imagine they smell slightly different when you actually burn them?

I wanted to get more of the festive ones online (there's about 20!) but really I should smell them first before I buy. I'm hoping there will be some in the local department store tomorrow that I can have a good sniff of, then I'll try to find them cheaper on eBay, etc.

I get odd looks cos Im forever picking them up and sniffing them, they are lined up on the hearth and i can't help myself! the Christmas Cupcake smells fantastic, ive not burned it yet but they are usually pretty similar when they are burning to how they smell cold

Ive got some Kringle Christmas ones, I bought the tealights, they are cheaper than Yankee and do smell lovely but not burned any yet - trying to be good! :D

Maybe a little too early to buy a Christmas tree, but missed out on the one I wanted last year...so...to avoid disappointment this year I've bought my tree already! Forgot to mention, the company I bought it off are offering free mini trees with each order, what do you think? ...http://www.uniquelychristmastrees.co.uk/grand-fir-artificial-christmas-tree.html

I wish they would too! I rang their Birmingham store and they said they are getting the throws in every day, but if I rang the day he was planning to go they would put one by for me, they were really helpful :)

I usually ask for books, DVD's or cds (prefer them for the car) I may ask for a specific MAC lipgloss or something like that, or a specific set of smellies like the Beauticology from Boots, sometimes I may ask hubby for a particular perfume or gift set of Clarins if theres a good one with the stuff I like with an offer, but this year just a couple of books and DVDs - I may very well ask for some Yankee candles this year, I love the summer/ocean ones they have like Pink Sand, Sand and Sea, Ocean Walk etc :)

Last year I got Stitch from the Disney Store! :D

I'm asking for books, a couple of DVDs (Hunger Games!), a new phone as mine has gone mental, and some fun baking stuff. So far.

I'm asking for the Nigellisima book, and some socks!! My PILs will likely give me money, they are lovely like that. They are also good at choosing lovely long cardigans.

Ooh and I'd love The Game of Thrones blu ray
