Today I went into Manchester && managed to spend £105 in primark && I didn't even get the presents I needed to get from there oooops although I did need some new winter boots && some jumpers!! I did get my grans pjs so she is done! And my aunties nighty for hamper so she is done! Also got my little brorher a disney cars onesie!! Will have to go back before Xmas though at some point!! I also went into quality save and ended up getting my brother 2 pirates of the carribian sets to go with his pirate ship they were 2.99 each && I've seen the same sets for 6.99!! I also got 2 more glass jars for my hamper they were 99p I think and bigger then the £1land ones!!

I've got to go to the jobcenter on Wednesday which is good cause I can do some more Xmas shopping haha!!

All this talk about decorations is making me want to put the tree up but bf said no :( hahahahahaha maybe it Is a little early yet! I know I have to buy new decs as my bf's mum normally does the tree and decs she goes over board and has the tree different colours && has celing decs etc & I don't like it!! And cause she will still be living next door I get to do the tree and as we have a white tree that bf bought last year in sale as we were ment to get own house this year I wanna use that and get some decs that match as I don't like mix match everything has to match haha!!

Dont think id get away with it either & probs get told to never mention xmas again til december!!
I work in a theatre as does dh so have always worked Xmas eve. It's quite magical really as all the kids are so excited and its all twinkly! Live it. U dont do it anymore as I'm part time now. But when I did I used to leave after the show, about 8pm and drive to devon with Xmas songs in the radio. nothing lovlier than driving home for christmas playing! Lush!

Sadly it usually meant I had to get back for boxing day. that was always a pants shift. we used to cheer it a bit ht having a tradition of wearing our pyjamas to work and everyone would bring sweets etc til New powers that be stopped the pjs. Humbug.

Anyway, sorry for the ramble! X

We used to go when I was younger with my parents & loved it!! So magical when we used to go with my grandparent too!

Cornishorchid - sorry for your loss too. I totally know what you mean by the date thing. My Gran died on my husbands birthday and my best friend's Dad died on her Mum's birthday... talk about timing ;)

Anyway enough of me dithering on :)

I also wish Primark would trade online, I do have a couple near me though so am quite lucky in that respect.
I also desperately want some new Christmas pj's. I've been wearing both pairs of last years!

Feeling quite pleased with myself as best friends's Mum said she really wanted a yankee tart holder as she's got some tarts but her other holder had smashed. I found one on amazon for £5.95 free delivery that matches the colour of her living room perfectly :) so I've knocked another off the list :)

I've been asked to compile a list for my Mum and Husband of what I want. I don't want anything really, what are you lot asking for?

Im sorry to hear of your loss, but pleased to hear your brother is recovering. Christmas is always a little bitter sweet for us too, as my grandpa died on xmas eve and I know my dad always finds that day difficult. Its afew years now so its getting better. I hope you & your family can enjoy yourselves as much as you can.

And moneysavingmum im so pleased I have his present sorted, he got nothing last year as I toatally ran out of funds! Somehow need to get it in the car and to my parents to hide it ready for when I go back at xmas. Not sure how thats going to happen though!

Also went to Primark & no fleeces :(

For anyone interested in Yankee Candles, our newly opened Boundry Mill has a huge Yankee Candle section and the prices are a lot lower than the other 'high street' stores! I got one of the large jars for £10!

    hope that helps someone :D

    Xmas Saver!
:( I think I may be coming down with what dd has had. She asked if we could go to Ipswich this weekend , as we didn't get out this Saturday. And to be honest, I don't think I can be bothered. Even the large Poundland and a Primark don't seem to any appeal at the moment. :(

Hopefully it is a 48 hour thing I will feel more myself by then. Right now the thought of troopsing round the shops fills me with dread.

I just want to stay in the warm with a coffee and a good film.

On a more Christmassy note, I got a Lidl leaflet through the door today. On Monday they have a lot of silicone bakeware in. They also have silicone chocolate moulds for £2.99.

One of the cake moulds is a bear and could be used for a Pudsey.

Yes! I'm sure Primark must be pretty much the only big store not to sell online. It's SO annoying.

:rotfl: Sorry for laughing but could you imagine it. CRASH...CRASH...CRASH...

It would be Argos 342 only everyday.

When it comes to shops like Primark, I like to look at the item in person. Some of their stuff in quite poorly made while others are quite well made.

I have a t-shirt from there that is about 5 years old. It is still black, and people often ask where I got it. Dd has also had things that have only lasted a couple of wears.

All the talk about christmassy yankee candles is too tempting :rotfl:
I've only ever had the wax tarts, but I think they are great value because they last for ages (you can definitely tell the difference between yankee and cheaper candles).
Think I'll go into clintons next time I go into town and see if they have the xmas ones out yet... :D

Our local garden centre (Brigg Garden Centre) is now open for its Christmas display..cannot wait to see it..always spectacular..Feels like Christmas is well and truly on its way once they have opened..

:D Also recommend Pennels and Alford too :D (Think they're about 30 mins from Brigg?)

Not sure when the things are in but the Alford one is already putting signs out directing the way :D

  • emalou88-So sorry to hear of your loss, the bubble bath idea is lovely. Glad your brother is recovering well. xxx

onriebaby-Good luck at your interview. :)

mcjordi-Lol that did make me laugh, eating the sweets and drinking the drink! :) I think most people on here have raided their tins of sweets already. (me included!) :rotfl:

gleek-Ooh I like the 'naked' tree lol! Really pretty!

I raided the Roses tin last night and was disappointed! They seem to have made the chocolate thicker (not a problem normally lol) and not as much filling (strawberry and orange creams mmm) so you just get a mouthful of thick claggy chocolate. Im not a Roses connoisseur or anything haha but they do seem to have changed! Moan moan! :D
Didnt get to Primark as didnt have the money in the end. I did look last week though and no xmas kids pyjamas or fleeces bah. :(
